This out-ofthe-way restaurant a few blocks from Gare du Nord serves traditional French food with generous pours of wine. Their tasting menu is the best value. Their fish, or whatever is in season, is always prepared well.

Hit or miss. One great meal. One inedible one. The menus offered were unique. My choice of tiny crab cakes, tender scallops served with beans, and a chocolate dessert were all excellent. My husband's foie gras was superb but his choice of lamb saddle was positively inedible. Given a choice of rare, medium rare, or well done, he selected rare to medium rare. It was served completely overcooked. The meat was so dry it resembled shoe leather. When he pointed out the obvious error, the waitress shrugged and apologized saying that she had written it down the right way. No options were offered to correct even though she agreed it was not what he ordered. We did not choose to make a scene. In our 5 days in Paris, this was his only truly bad meal. We do not recommend.

We had an absolutely great dinner at this place located close to Gare du Nord. Do make a booking due to its popularity and size. The beef and the scallops was great. Staff very alert and fluent in english. We do recommend it and compared to bustle and hustle around the Gare this is relaxing and enjoyable.

This is a good French Bistro not far from Gard Do Nord. Ten of us had dinner over "the Arc " weekend and the restaurant was very busy with both English and French customers. The service was good considering how busy it was . I had the best Seared Foie Gras I've had in any restaurant so look out for that on the Menu. A steak for main course was good but not Excellent , nice sauce , creamy mash but not melt in the mouth steak. Overall a good atmosphere a good range of wines as well but worth a trip for my "best starter ever"

I spent over a hour looking for a place to have lunch , and I found heaven. Quirky little bistro, I had a wonderful chicken dish with tarragon and mushrooms and homemade mash potatoes. And a few glasses of cote du Rhone . Followed by profitarols home made. Fantastic lunch and the waitress Jane could be my next ex wife.

After a while walking around looking for somewhere enticing we turned to TripAdvisor for some inspiration. From that we ended up here. All I think I can say is that we should not be deceived by reviews in English of French restaurants. As although there were many good reviews in English for this restaurant it was frankly wholly underwhelming in reality for a French restaurant in France. Where should we start? Booking a table that was never prepared for us. A waiter that was eating while he was serving us. A waiter that understood a poire William as a pear cooked in wine.... A waiter that along with the fois gras forgot the Muscat. A waiter that forgot we asked for water..... The above summary only scratches the surface of the issues we encountered. A waiter than didn't know when to pour wine, a waiter that ..... anyway I do believe you get the idea However a major part of a restaurant is still the food. Hence you can imagine my huge disappointment when the terrine of fois gras was served warm and melting on the plate..... The fillet of beef was reasonable but at the end of the night to pay over 200 euros for 3 people when our first 2 choices of wine were not actually available is frankly daylight robbery. Somewhere to avoid and never set foot in. You will not be missing anything worthwhile if you never frequent this restaurant.

Despite being delayed by 30 minutes because of problems at CDG airport we were still welcomed at 10pm for our dinner. Great French atmosphere and decor, friendly service, and superb food. Unsurprisingly popular with locals! Highly recommended.

We were nervous to eat out on our first night in Paris but needn't have been at L'Ardoise Gourmande. They have an English menu on the back of the French menu and the staff are happy to converse in English. We went with the 2 course set menu for €25 which included a glass of wine (the white option was really good too). Husband had his first ever snails and was happily surprised - he was able to dip delicious, crusty bread into the garlic butter once snails eaten too. Mains were the chicken supreme and beef tartar. Both were exceptional. My tartar was served with 3 minced options (onion, capers, gherkins) and mustard plus salad and the best roast potatoes. Dessert was the famous profiterole and it did not disappoint. Would highly recommend and plan on visiting again before we leave. Tres magnifique!

Good range of traditional French food, well prepared and tasty. The waitress was lovely and happy to speak in English or French. We went for the set menu which was very reasonably priced. There was only one couple in there when we arrived which did have us concerned but the place soon filled up with a good mix of locals and tourists. Location was great for a final meal in Paris before catching the Eurostar back to London.

With 2 hours to spare before getting on the next Eurostar, I thought I'd give this restaurant a go based on the reviews and I wasn't disappointed. One thing to note is that lunch service finishes at 2, so you need to be there before 1.30 at the latest. However this also means that there are no delays getting the bill! The food was delicious - I had the chicken and mash, and then the chocolate mousse. The two course menu at €25 comes with a choice of a glass of wine or mineral water, and service is included. There were plenty of locals there for lunch which is always a good sign! I'll definitely be going back!

We had great food and service here. Simple fillet de boeuf and chicken with tarragon and both were deilcious followed by profiteroles.

I arrived when the place was not busy and it got very busy later. The food was good. I had a nicely done salad with warm chevre that was very nice and the Bar with Fennel also excellent. It is the rest that was the problem. The offerings by the glass of wine are meager and ok at best and there were no half bottles of wine. So I could get nothing that came close to the quality of the food, That is also less money for them. And the service was not good. There were 2 young gentlemen who were working their tails off, but one was obviously new at it. The older gentlemen seemed to disappear for a half hour and so service suffered. If you love going to the cheesecake factory get the "famous" Profiterole. It was huge and drowned in chocolate. I had not known that or would not have ordered it. And I wanted another glass for after dinner but after being ignored for over 20 minutes I was sort of happy to pay my bill and disappear into the night. All and all a dispiriting ending to my last night in Paris

We had a really good meal here. Certainly not pretentious, the restaurant was relaxed, welcoming, efficient and friendly. The food was very tasty and good value. A thoroughly enjoyable dining experience.

We got here via trip advisor with out a reservation. We got lucky there was a available. The food was great especially for the price value you get. Definitely a recommendation if you leaving the town via North Station. But also if you interested in good food. Not the nicest neighborhood at night but a great place for lunch or dinner.

The staff is very kind and helpful. You can taste characteristic dishes, such as rabbit leg on mashed potatoes. The set menu formula is very convenient. I had a table outdoors. Highly recommended.

The vegetarian options at this restaurant are quite limited. I only found two things on the very extensive menu, one starter and one main. Neither was vegan and neither could be made vegan. I was disappointed in the options.

My husband and I ate here after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor and we were not disappointed. We chose from the fixed price menu and both opted for the squid starter (special) which was excellent. For our mains we chose the guinea fowl (special) and the prawns. Again, both were very good. We were served by several staff who were very friendly. We went at around 7.30 and it was fairly quiet but by the time we left, just before 9, it was much busier. Would eat here again.

We ate this evening - my husband and an old friend having a weekend Airbnb break and our pilate nephew just staying overnight. Really very good varied menu and perfectly cooked and friendly service. We picked from the specials and set menu and everything was great. We would recommend and we will return.

Have been twice now. Love it. Fresh food. Flavours really nice. Close to Gare du Nord and a lot of Hotels.
