Helsinki is such a small city, even 3 km is out of town. The hotel is about 3 km from the Main train station where the train from the Airport arrives and departs. The hotel is comfortable and clean. Nothing extra-ordinary. Good for a business visit. Use Uber to get to downtown. Much much cheaper than regular taxis. There is a very beautiful park (Hesperiaparken) across the road. Sleep quality - 9/10. Will recommend. Will return.

Stayed at this hotel for a nearby conference, turned out to be great decision. Room very comfortable, bed was like sleeping in a cloud. However I did find it disconcerting that there were two doonas/coverlets on the bed rather than one large one. Bathroom room was very clean and quite roomy. We had a room with big windows overlooking the street below, park across the road and even the city skyline. Great views. Staff were exceptionally helpful, I had a minor issue (not their problem) and they helped resolve it for me. Breakfast was a huge spread and quite delicious. We ate at the restaurant and were very happy, and we enjoyed the bar services. We walked into city centre, about 30 minutes away. Hop on/off bus nearby. Quiet and safe area. It was a delight to stay at Crowne Plaza Hotel Helisinki.

2 night stay @ this crown plaza in Helsinki. A little way out of the main downtown area but only seven mins in a taxi. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful, I needed a document printing but the hotel email address wasn't working, so the lady on reception gave me her private email address and then printed it from there. I arrived late and needed food, there is a room service menu but there is an additional cover charge of €12 which is very expensive. However the restaurant stays open until 11pm and I was offered the opportunity to either eat in the restaurant or to collect the food from the restaurant and take it to my room, which was an excellent alternative. As it was I decided to eat in the restaurant and the burger was excellent and the waitress very helpful and friendly. The gym is excellent.. I will stay again just to use this gym all manner of equipment weights and aerobic machines. Not the most modern hotel but for value, gym and service level is scores a solid 4 out of 5.

Breakfast or as they call it "super breakfast" had nothing to do with super.. We went there just for breakfast and will definetly NOT go again. Hash browns were cold and karelian pies were hard as rock and burnt and also scrambled eggs was finished. There was maybe 25 people at most in the breakfast and still breakfast did not work at all.. I can't recommend this place at all.

Good hotel not far from the center. C lean rooms, nice staff. Breakfast a little expensive (23 euro's ). Skip the pre-fab scrambled eggs (not the quality you expect fir the price..) from the buffet and let the chef make you a fresh omelet or fried egg. Then you'll have a great breakfast.

Crowne Plaza is our preferred hotel in Helsinki and we are never disappointed. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the hotel clean and welcoming. We stayed 5 nights in a club room with great views over the city centre. The club lounge is well appointed and the snacks were tasty and plentiful and breakfast in the lounge was good. The hotel is close to tram and bus stops, including the Finnair Airport bus, and is opposite a park with lakeside walks. There are numerous restaurants in the locality.

I chose the Crowne Plaza Helsinki because my previous stay at the Holiday Inn Helsinki was so terrible. This wasn't much better and it has convinced me to avoid at all costs any IHG hotel in Finland. I paid for a Club Floor room which comes with breakfast and evening drinks and canapés in the club lounge. What a complete disappointment. It is easily the worst club lounge I have ever experienced with no attendant, poor quality snacks and a horrible musty smell which seems to permeate the whole building. The whole space is entirely depressing. Breakfast was a truly pathetic offering with no hot food and the pancake machine broken. So I headed down to the main hotel restaurant to have breakfast there only to be told I would have to pay and that I hadn't registered for breakfast. This is not the case in ANY other IHG property in which I have stayed where Club members are able to access breakfast in the club room or main restaurant if they choose. The male staff member on the reception was abrupt and unhelpful. The whole point of choosing club level is to get more, not less! I found my bed superb, so comfortable but the narrow club room was depressing with dark wood furniture, everything looking tired and in desperate need of renovation. The view from the room across to the lovely park across the road was very nice. The entrance to the hotel is appalling with the front awning badly damaged and everything looking like a Russian gulag. It is about. 20-30 minute walk to the city. All in all a disappointing stay and I wouldn't recommend this hotel to my friends.

Situated right by the Opera House and within 10 minutes walk of the city centre, this is a good business hotel. The rooms are comfortable and spacious enough, the restaurant is good and not too expensive, and the breakfast very good.

As part of my corporate tie up, I keep staying in Crowne plaza Helsinki very often. I find the rooms very comfortable with a great view, especially the sunrise. Breakfast spread is fine, staff responsive to needs and it is just a 10min walk from the Helsinki city Centre.

I was and the last year in this place, because of two reasons. The hotel is an old one,but very charmy with very goood rooms, excellent beds and very nice view. The second reason is the location. In front of Hesperia park, and the lake, just two stops from the center and with the same tram [No 4] you go easily at the famous Port [Market sq.,Cathedral ect]Enjoy the berger in hotel restaurant and start your promenade in the opposite lake with the modern Opera, the Finlandia complex [ Alv.Aalto architect],the Music Centre and the Kiasma art museum...

We stayed here for 5 nights. The hotel is fairly central with good public transport links - tram stop very near to the Hotel. We had booked a junior suite on the Club floor. As a Spire Elite member of the hotel chain's loyalty programme, I am entitled to a room upgrade provided a room is available. I could see, from the Hotel's website, at least 1 suite was available and asked a receptionist for an upgrade. I was refused and told that it was not the policy of the Hotel to upgrade guests to a suite. I pointed out that this refusal was not in accordance with the loyalty club rules. I had to seek out an assistant manager before the room upgrade I was entitled to was forthcoming. The room was both spacious and clean. The Club Lounge was very disappointing - not staffed full-time and the selection of snacks was extremely limited and quite frankly of poor quality. Worst Club Lounge I have ever encountered.

Crown Plaza's are always nice& clean. I don't bother with breakfast unless included due to the excessively high prices. The location is nice, in front is a big park good for walks, up the hill is toolo market, nice option to get a local feel, go for morning coffee.

The location of the hotel is close to the park, so we could feel the fireworks party on New Years Eve. The hotel has a comfortable lobby, we were given an apple on the table. A delicious buffet breakfast with lots of choices like yogurt, hot chocolate and various breads. I highly recommend this hotel

Pros: Front desk service was great, I forget the name but one of the Ladies of Asian origin was so lovely, she upgraded me to a junior suite because I booked a club room but I wanted to be on a lower floor with my friends on the 6th floor. She was very helpful too. Great location, near the start and end points of the marathon. It's not within the city proper it's probably a good 20 min walk to the Malls, so not great. But lovely, beautiful park and lake that would give some decent mileage maybe 10k, it would just be nice to have a picnic. Great location with many other restaurants nearby. There's also a Supermarket within a 5 min walk behind the hotel good to stock up on snacks and any you may need on short notice. Cons: it's an old hotel and it does smell that way, the musty wooden smell. Seems clean enough though. But service again is patchy on a Sunday (perhaps it's a Europe thing), when they knocked on my door on Sunday around 11 am I asked if they could com back around 2 pm. They were like probably not because we work short hours. Then I was like alright, just give extra towels toiletries and water. The next day I had no Housekeeping till like 1 or 2 pm, and when I ran into staff in the hallways. Two or three of them were oh it's not my assigned room, not very helpful in trying to figure this out. Anyway, gave a call to the front desk who sorted it out quick. In house restaurant was ok, but overwhelemd by the deluge of dinner customers post marathon. Around 10 pm, so we had to limp and find food to eat most restaurants were on last orders or closed at this point. We headed over to scandic hotel which had a very decent meal that we manage to squeeze in on last order. Overall, I think it's reasonably priced. I would stay here again, given the positive experience I've had , though house keeping service can be improved on.

The Crowne Plaza Helsinki is pretty much average across the board. The location isn't great because it is about a 20 minute walk from the city center, although it is right on the tram line. It is also a bit tired and worn. It likely suffers from a lot of turnover due to tour groups and conferences. The breakfast was also simply average, although you can get an omelette cooked to order which is nice. The staff was probably the only above average part of the hotel.

We stayed here for a conference. Expensive as all hotels in Finland but a nice room, very comfortable bed and good bathroom and strong shower. A bit of a walk to downtown but trams and taxis are frequent. Food not much special but lots of restaurants nearby

Touring with a group of travelers, we got to stay here at the Crowne Plaza, which we all agreed was a fine choice. Well maintained and presented , the staff were very obliging. Although the bathroom did not have a bidet, there was installed a fascinating alternative, which I had not seen arranged in any other hotel...........if you are curious, be sure and stay here at the Crowne Plaza .

We spent four nights in this Crowne Plaza. As IHG members we were given access to their lounge on the 9th floor, with free breakfast and a 6 pm 2 hour slot for snacks. Rooms were exceptionally comfortable with good bathrooms. Facilities were good with an indoor pool and sauna. The location is around two tram stops from the centre. Helsinki has an excellent tram system which is very easy to use. The staff at the hotel were always there to help and guide us whenever we asked a few questions.

I went here with my mum to spend some mother daughter time, hotel itself is nice and rooms are spacious. However the service we received was not the best possible. When we arrived we were told at that point that hotel pool was out of service as they were doing some work on it, considering pool was one of the reasons we booked this hotel, they really should have mentioned this at their website. Also when we arrived the parking was full and we went to ask instructions as we didn't want to drive far, but also it had not been possible to book in advance. They gave us some pretty vague explanation about close by parking and told that we could load our bags of, take them upstairs and then go back to try find something near by, so we decided to do this. However when were about to drive off, we saw few people leaving the parking and wanted to drive in. The door would not open so I went to ask and different lady was serving me at this time. She told me directly that the parking system was faulty, went to reset it so that the door would open for us. Parking hall turned out to be half empty and if the first person would have done this, it would have saved us lot of trouble. So not a major disaster, but attitude needs changing to more service oriented. Breakfast was good and we slept well, there was some noices, but nothing too bad. Overall ok good hotel, but with bit of extra work they could be better, so don't expect luxury.

On Arrival the staff were very helpful & friendly, Our room was large enough, and had everything one would expect in this class hotel. We used the restaurant & bar during our visit, and the food was excellent, and as expected, quite expensive. The buffet breakfast was varied, and some items were cooked to order. You defiantly would not go hungry. We were able to use the business centre to check in with the airline. The hotel is opposite the Finnair bus stop for the airport. Only downside was our beds were not made to a resonable standard, the decorative pillows were left on the chair together with the decorative cover,,
