This is a place for real foodlovers! There is a lot to eat, taste and see, but the prices are quite touristy high. A must visit for Madrid.

If you fancy a quick coffee and a small cake, or a glass of wine and some tapas do go to this market. It is rammed full of so many different stalls offering a wide variety of tapas style food and drinks. It gets really busy but don't be put off - you can stand around chatting to friends and eating and drinking for ages. Not many places to sit - so be prepared to stand. Yes it is a bit more pricey than other bars in Madrid, but worth a visit anyway.

A typical place to visit in Madrid that shouldn't be missed. Drink a sangria and a glass of wine while walking around trying lots of good Spanish things like pinchos, jamón, manchego cheese etc. Great !

Excellent range of foods. Atmosphere was buzzing. This isn't a sit down type venue. It is more of a try lots of different things while walking around.

This place is crowded and they have the same tapas everyone has outside but all under one roof. Not a lot of places to seat and the prices are a bit higher. Not impressed at all.

Definitely go and enjoy the Food! Just grab one and share until you can find which is the one you like then go for the 2nd round. Vermuth gets you tipsy althoough it's very sweet but not as sweet as ice wine but sweeter than sangria. Do your price comparison and be careful with impulses since everything looks good!

If you want to experience a first-hand experience of Spain, then head to the beautiful glass fronted Mercado San Miguel. Go with an empty stomach and you will leave nourished and enriched by this attraction. Beautiful paella, velvety rioja and many many different types of Spanish cuisine. I loved wandering around the different stalls, trying small portions here and there. The people are warm and friendly and the cuisine is outstanding. Do not go to Madrid without visiting this culinary beauty!

Really great place to enjoy drinks and food. Lots of different stalls selling oysters, tapas, cakes plus then bars to enjoy all kinds of drinks to savour with the tasty nibbles. Busy at times, but a very lively atmosphere. We went at lunch and also in the evening spending many hours trying out the different options.

We have been going to Madrid for 7 years now and Mercado de St Miguel was always our first stop. Sadly in our opinion the place is now so exspensive they have priced us out. It seems they are only interested in the money. We have Spanish friends who live in Madrid and say the same thing. They now go to other Mercados. Very dissapointing.

This place is crowded, the quality of food is average and the price is higher than other places with similar quality. But certainly worth a visit.

We happened upon this place just as we decided to look for lunch and thought we'd go in and see what they had on offer. I was randomly craving a pizza and the first place we saw was a pizza place! There was no queue and plenty of space on the ledge next to it to eat it at so we went for it. They had several different flavour individual pizzas with some offers such as a price for a pizza and a glass of wine. We had the offer of 2 margarita pizzas for €4.50 which was a bargain! The pizzas were lovely and we seemed to be on a quiet side so had plenty of room to stand and eat them by the ledge to put your food on. After we went and looked round the rest of the place and it was crazy busy! As some places on the other side were more like bars there were lots of people standing around drinking and it was very difficult to get past them and get around the place. We bought 3 macarons at €1 each from a lovely looking dessert stall where all the other things were quite pricey! It was pretty busy on the Saturday lunch that we visited and I can imagine it can get a lot worse.

Fantastic place to stop and have something to eat and drink. All sorts of tapas, beer and wine. Lots of choices and good for lunch or dinner while looking around Madrid

This place is a must see. Lots of food in display and a lot of tourists too. We tried several dishes but I wasn't impressed.

If you like to have tapas, jamón serrano, cheese and wine in a great atmosphere, this is the place for you. You have to go no later than 10 (it's getting crowded at this time because Spanish people go out late) if you like to have a perfect experience. My recommendation, take a look at some of the shops and know some of them. Ask for the good wines and don't mind about the price (Spain is not too expensive anyway).

Very busy tourist spot but worth visiting to see lots of different food offerings. Not very easy to find a seat as it is so busy but the outside of the building is also stunning& worth a picture or two!

Saturday night probably not the best time to go if you don't like crowds. But it was our only option. Be prepared for great food but a lot of people.

it's perfect for the first day in madrid, it's a tourist trap but a nice tourist trap. the food is tasty, but it's overpriced. you can have better food for less money in the smaller venues around the town, but as a introducion of spanish food it's the perfect place. it's worth a visit none of the less
