Barcelona's version of the Ace Hotel. Very well-located on Gran Vía halfway between Eixample and Diagonal Mar neighborhoods, Casa Bonay is a hip hotel with a great restaurant (Libertine), café (Satan's Coffee) and roof deck in beautiful Beaux-Arts building that oozes creativity.

A wonderful, unique little gem of a hotel, beautiful, stylish atmosphere with fantastic service. Everyone working at Casa Bonay was fantastic, lovely staff, thank you,Pedro for the amazing restaurant recommends! Lucifer"s coffee, Libertine bar, Elephant Crocodile Monkey, we took advantage of everything the property had to offer & we were not disappointed! we stayed in room 202, was a stylish little suite, highly recommend room 202! The rooftop for guests is fantastic bonus, perfect location for a glass of cava among the beautiful plants. we loved Casa Bonay, it did not disappoint!!

This was recommended on WGSN fashion website that highlighted this as a young and vibrant hotel with great location and some original architecture. It was exactly that and wish I could have stayed longer. My room was clean and simple but felt very local and authentic. Roof top bar and evening tapas was a great end to a busy working day. Wednesday night there was an outdoor cinema on the roof just for guest which was uber cool. Combined with super friendly and knowledgeable staff it made it a great stay. The food is excellent too and reasonably priced. I will stay here again on my next trip.

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights in Sept. It is a lovely boutique-style hotel in a great location to visit the sights of Barcelona with plenty of nice restaurants within a few minutes walk. The staff are really friendly and helpful with excellent English. There is a nice bar/restaurant on site which serves good food - although a little pricey. Our stay included a good breakfast which was buffet style and included hot bacon and scrambled eggs plus all the usual continental breakfast items. My only issues with the hotel related to our room. It was spacious and comfortable, well equipped and quiet at night, but there were no windows and no wardrobes/drawer units. This meant we had to live out of our suitcases for 4 days and we missed having natural daylight in the room. This would be ok for 2-3 nights but I think we'd have gone a little stir-crazy if we'd stayed any longer. Overall, I think we'd be happy to stay there again but not for any more than 3 nights at a stretch.

Casa Bonay is a beautiful boutique hotel, with a very unique atmosphere and well appointed bars and restaurants. We stayed here for four nights and the staff were lovely and helpful, we actually spent a lot of time in the hotels restaurant and bar (including the great rooftop bar). If you're in Barcelona for fun and like nice places with good atmos, then Casa Bonay won't disappoint.

Good location, large showers and comfortable beds. I enjoyed the design of the large downstairs bar - staff helpful and caring. My only downside was the cost value dimension. 20 Euros to hire a bike for the day is expensive. Lovely views of the city from the rooftop.

A hotel made for the people of Barcelona. Thanks santa&cole showed us their lighting decoration of the whole hotel. Many Barcelona interesting prints and sketch throughout the hotel. Before entering the hotel, you will pass a bookstore, don't hesitate. The most important, don't miss their herbs garden in the rooftop.

Casa Bonay has a fun and cool hostel vibe, but with all the benefits of a chic hotel. The room itself was quite big and cosy. We were over a very busy road but we were not disturbed and had a great nights sleep! (after a few drinks at Liberte, of course.) The bar is quite expensive and you will be able to find cheaper bars nearby but the DJ and cool decor will entice you in and well, your bedroom is only upstairs. The coffee shop, Satans, makes the best flat white I've ever had and was a great start today. we didn't stay for breakfast int he hotel as it was very expensive and instead found somewhere nearby. The highlight for me was the roof terrace, It's a cool place to spend the evening and have a few drinks before going for dinner. The location is great. We walked everywhere and didn't find any need for taxis or public transport. It cost about 20 euros in a taxi from the airport and that was the only taxi we got.

For the first leg of our Barcelona trip, the part where my partner would be going to a work conference each day, we stayed here. Casa Bonay is different to any hotel I've stayed in before, but in a good way. Three restaurants, a cult coffee shop, a bookshop in the entrance hall... there's a lot going on! Oh, and there's a beautiful roof terrace! It also had the comfiest pillows I've ever had in a hotel! We will definitely be back.

Perfectly located to explore the magic of Barcelona. The Gotic, Raval and La Ribera/El Born are all right on your doorstep, and two metros mean moving further across the city is easy. The room has everything you need, including a very comfortable bed and small balcony - ours overlooks the internal courtyard, not noisy at all. On the ground level, Satan's cafe brews a wonderfull coffee and serves fresh pastries, the restaurant Elephant, Crocodile and Monkey serves excellent food, the Libertine is a lush tapas bar, and the rooftop bar is welcoming. A local friend said he enjoys going to the bars and restaurant and didn't realise it was also a hotel. It's excellent value for price.

Authentic hotel with rooms that are big on character, modern, and feel like home. If you appreciate boutique hotels with curated design and aesthetics, good location, and helpful staff, then this is the place.

This small and extremely cool hotel is in a great location on one of the main thoroughfares in Barcelona but away from the tourist hordes. The rooms are very comfortable - we had one overlooking the street, however noise was no issue with the balcony doors shut. The hotel has young and very friendly staff who are great at helping with directions. It is located very close to two different metro stations on two different lines making it very easy to get around Barcelona. The rooftop bar is a great spot for an afternoon or evening drink and I cannot speak highly enough of the barista in the downstairs café who makes a great cappuccino.

A nice trendy hotel in the center of Barcelona, has very comfortable and well designed rooms, a lounge bar which at moments seems you're in a terrace of Barcelona (so well designed) and a Restaurant which superb!

Spent just one night here, but saw enough to want to return. Rooms are basic and a little cramped, but the rooftop terrace serves excellent food, the coffee at the Satan's coffee shop is the best in Barcelona and the staff could not be more helpful and friendly. Not particularly child friendly, especially if sharing your room, so sit on the roof terrace or in the bar instead!

This was totally different than what I had expected. More of a US Motel quality type hotel or a medieval inn. No closets!! You hang you clothes on a rack. Weird!!! Floors look like they have worn out. Center table is made of a couple of stools. Front Office staff helpful but seem like a bunch of freelancers rather than professional staff. The hotel is supposed to be based on modern concept. I am not sure about all that BS. AC worked; Showers OK; Breakfast fairly good. There is a rooftop terrace to hang out in but we never succeeded in accessing it.

The outdoor shower on the roof top terrace was out of order. They had ground level E which was a right beauty. The screen mirroring on the tv did not work but the type of material used to make the stairs was top class. C0ME ON ARSENAL!!!

A remarkable and wonderful atmosphere with sophisticated interiors and a friendly and helpful front desk. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. As a frequent visitor to Barcelona, Casa Bonay is at the top of the list.

At Casa Bonay we received excellent treatment from a range of very friendly staff who were happy to help in all instances. The location is set quite a way back from the beach and main tourist locations but close to the Arc de Triumph and about a 20 min walk from places like La Rambla and the Sagrada Familia. Our double room which was £530 for 3 nights was basic with little storage space but did the job well and had a large bathroom and good shower. The rooftop terrace and cocktail bar was very special and although we didn't visit the restaurants they looked very trendy and popular. Overall the hotel was very pleasant and exactly what we were looking for.

I love hotels like this. No fuss, no uppity staff and a real feel for the city. Rooms are quite modest yet comfortable. Literally a place to hang up your hat and rest for more travel. Location is prime, plenty of taxis nearby (when they aren't on strike) and stores nearby. Highly recommend.

Room was excellent and hotel staff very friendly. I was visiting Barcelona only for a few days on a foodie trip and, as it was on a short notice, I needed alot of help from reception staff and reservation crue to get my restaurant reservations. They did a very good job with that, not only they could get me in some very full and very busy places, but made some recommendations that turned out very very good. Thank you for that! Overall stay in the hotel was very satisfying - room was spacious and very tasteful, overall hotel's design is hip and modern, great coffee downstairs and beautiful bar. Found this hotel in Wallpaper* magazine and it had everything a Wallpaper* reader would look for in a hotel! :D
