We stayed at this hotel for 3 night and it was a wonderful stay. The bed was 4 poster, and the entire hotel was so so clean and comfortable. The staff were welcoming and friendly and there was free fruit available to take with you each morning. The bus into town goes from right outside, but the hotel have even thought so far ahead to keep the door locked for safety. 100% would stay again, thanks so much.

What a cosy and nice hotel. I like the atmophsfere at the hotel. The dining area is also a place, you feel comfortable in. And if I had stayed there during the Summer, I would have spend some time out in the courtyard.

In one of the best parts of the city -- boutiques and nice restaurants galore and easily within walking/biking distance to meatpacking. Lots to do. Rooms are very small but very cozy Balinese style with a beautiful, super comfy poster bed. Loved the toiletries too. Staff is helpful and friendly -- I wish they told me about the extra cost for the third person beforehand/during check in rather than after the fact with a charge tho.

This Hotel has been our go to Hotel in Copenhagen for several years now and cannot recommend it highly enough as it's friendly, quiet and delivers high Scandinavian style. Would also recommend booking the garden rooms as the court yard is particularly lovely in the summer.

Cozy rooms have all basics you need, and there's an eco-friendly focus to the products they use. There's a delicious breakfast spread, and the hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. It's an easy 1km walk to the central station with lots of restaurant options around. The hotel feels wonderfully charming and modern. Great place to stay!

If you're fed up with international chain hotels, try Guldsmeden. Small, but cozy rooms with all amenities, fabulous breakfast, very personal service from staff. It is not dead centered in Copenhagen, but you can easily walk to Tivoli and Strøget.

We had a lovely 4 nights here our room was clean comfortable and well equipped. Our room was on the 4th floor facing the road but traffic noise was not a problem. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. It is about 15 mins walk from the central station but the bus services are excellent so a good base to explore the city. We would definitely stay there again.

Lovely find in an upcoming part of Copenhagen. Great to stay somewhere not in the main tourist trail. Hotel is perfect for couples weekend away, rooms and bathrooms lovely with underfloor heating! The breakfast is organic and fabulous, great selection and foyer and restaurant a perfect cosy treat for time away from the kids. I also loved the toiletries provided. Will be back.

It was an average hotel a little out of the way from the centre of Copenhagen. The rooms were pretty small for the price and the shower smelt like wee. It was an alright hotel but not as luxury or stylish or clean as the pictures/website make it seem. I would definitely stay in another hotel in Copenhagen for the money I paid for it.

we had a very nice mansard hotel room, cozy and quiet. The staff was super friendly. The only drawback - as in most places in Copenhagen: No parking for the car. You can't even stop in front of the hotel. But if you come by plane or train: great stay

We have just returned from our latest visit to Denmark. We as ever stayed in our favourite hotel in Copenhagen, Bertrams Guldsmeden. It was wonderful, friendly welcome, delicious breakfast and a new change to the bathrooms... new shower heads and plumbing in general. The shower now has two showerheads, one big rosette and one handheld shower. It worked a treat! Another good reason to chose this hotel for your next stay!!

Chose this hotel for our visit to Copenhagen after much reading. It's a good walk from the centre of town ( 15-20 minutes) but there's a bus stop nearby and lots of great places to eat. The hotel has an organic/sustainable philosophy that extends to all areas of the hotel including the wonderful organic breakfast. Rooms are compact but well appointed and the hotel is quiet with opening windows (yay!). Would be improved by tea/ coffee making facilities in the room ( seems funny to have iron but no kettle). Only down side is the lift which stops between floors meaning you have to lug a certain amount of way ( getting soft in my old age). Finally the staff are great, lots of helpful suggestions about restaurants- all of them excellent. Would certainly stay again.

Loved this small hotel. It's very cozy and lovely, yet also unstated cool. It feels almost as if you are in someones very nice home. Great breakfasts too, and very helpful owner and staff. Def. recommend. Slightly off the beaten track, but we didn't mind as it's great to walk places. However it is very near the hip meat packing district ( great for dinner) and some fab shopping areas.

This is not my first stay at the Bertram and all I can stay is that it is still my favourite hotel in Copenhagen. Nowhere else do you have this warm and cosy feeling to a hotel and this level of personalised welcome. I love it that their sustainable approach is coupled to very high comfort standards. As I visited in December the decoration was so wonderful that my colleagues and I really felt we were guests at a friend's house rather than in a hotel. Love it!

If you have any symptoms of a dust allergy you should avoid this hotel. There was so much dust in our room that my wife that are allergic to dust could not sleep in the room. We complain about it and after a lot of arguing with the man in the front desk we were offered a new room. We checked out the room (no 26) and after a short check we found a lot of dust in that room as well (see my attached photos). We showed our result to the man in the front desk and he hardly understand the problem. If this room was not good enough for us we had to find a new hotel. It is still hard to believe what he told us…. As a Top Contributor on Tripadvisor I have done a lot of reviews around the hotel but it is hard to remember an example of a treatment from the front staff like we did on this hotel. Therefore I wrote an email to the owner of the hotel to get his comments before I wrote my final review on Tripadvisor and Google Maps. The answer form the owner himself shows that this hotel is not a hotel where they are working hard for improving the service. We moved to the other Guldsmeden hotel in the same street (66/Carlton) were we also stayed in April earlier this year. We checked the room for dust on the same way as we did at Bertrams and it was completely clean as expected for this kind of hotels. Even the staff in the reception smiled! If you are going for an Guldsmeden hotel in Copenhagen I will highly recommend no. 66 (Carlton) The last years I have chosen hotels around the world based on Tripadvisor reviews. This time Tripadvisor failed! Svein-Magne Tunli from Bergen, Norway.

This was by far my best hotel stay in the 8 trips I have taken to Europe from America. First of all the owner and his staff were very friendly, professional, informative, and responsive at all times. In person, at the bar, in the room, before I headed out for the day, and before I arrived, I was given everything I needed as quickly as possible. The room and what it offered were exceptional for the price - I have stayed at many hotels in my life where the room is 3x the price of this hotel yet the service and rooms were not even close to comparable which resulted in a very disappointing experience. That was not the case here as the price paid for what I received was a phenomenal deal. The location is perfect. The new additions to the hotel's street and surrounding area over the past few years has made it an excellent neighborhood that every visiting adult can have a great time exploring. In addition, the hotel is still within walking distance of the main downtown area. My only suggestion is a room that faces the back of the hotel as opposed to the main street (which is one of the most popular streets in the city, so if you prefer silence over view like I did, take a room in the back). I slept every night with my door open and could not hear a sound all week. I will absolutely be staying here next time I visit - as long as the owner and his staff are in charge I would not consider another hotel under any circumstances. -Tim 11/9/2016

A really pleasant stay at the Bertrams Guldsmeden. The hotel owner, who was at the front desk a lot of the time, was exceedingly friendly and happy to offer suggestions of things to do / navigation around Copenhagen. His team was also always smiling and more than happy to help (and of course offer complimentary organic fruit!). The lounge / lobby area was a really comfortable place to start and end the day, almost like a living room in a house. Breakfast (buffet of cheese, cold cuts, bread) seemed nice but perhaps slightly expensive for what it offered. Really appreciated though that food and beverage items were charged on an honour system. Rooms were well-sized and designed (original herringbone wood floors, four-poster beds, high quality linens), but perhaps somewhat sparse. Organic toiletries in the bathroom, but the bathrooms themselves, whilst clean, are due for a significant refresh. Great location right on Vesterbrograde, within great walking proximity of a great area of Copenhagen. Overall, a pleasant stay and would stay again.
