We had a dinner there. The first waiter was very rude, but then another one, a very polite one, came to serve us. We ordered schnitzel with an amazing beer sauce, and a beer they produce in their restaurant. It was the best beer we had ever tasted! The price was ok for the meal, maybe a little bit expensive for students.

We visited this Brewery/Restaurant on a day trip from our cruise ship for lunch. It is reasonably large with seating and long benches. The home brew was tasty and the food superb. There were 10 of us with the restaurant about half full. The service was very good as was the food and the portions of a good size. The average price of a meal was around 10 to 14 euros per person. I would definitely use this restaurant again if I ever returned to Hamburg.

Fell across this restaurant on a Sunday as not much was open, but we were not disappointed. Service and food were both great Couldn’t serve tap water, bottled water expensive so stick to alcohol

We visited this restaurant three times during our two week stay in Hamburg and we were pleased with each visit. My husband very much enjoyed their beers, especially the Weizenbier and Kupfer. We tried their salmon (lachsfilet), pasta, chicken breast (Hähnchenbruststreifen) and pork schnitzel (Braumeisterschnitzel) and we were very full and happy with all of them. A must try is their Apple strudel (Apfelstrudel)! I have had many Apfelstrudel in Munich and this rivals those in Bravaria. The staff was very helpful and efficient during all of our visits. I speak some German, but staff will accommodate the English speaker and will take both cash and credit cards for payment.

They serve a lot of german dishes. It's very copious! The service is good but since it's often full it can take some times to get your food. Good beers.

We had lunch here during our citytrip to Hamburg. We very much enjoyed the food in this typical German brauhaus, with a busy pleasant atmosphere. We would go back here for lunch Or even dinner. Staff was very Friendly!

Well the dark beer is nice. Had plenty of time to taste it due to more than one hour of waiting time for the food. I ordered a traditional snitzel but it come with frensh fries? My wife ordered a pork dish with mushroom sauce which were missing (mushroom sauce) only cheese she could taste. However it is a nice place in ok price level.

They mainly serve food that traditionally is from southern Germany so do not expect a genuine Hamburg experience here. However their meals are delicious and not too expensive. Service could be a little more attentive.

We wanted some German food in the city and looked up this place. We sat outside by the water. The construction across the road was a bit annoying but not the restaurant's fault. We had the schnitzel dish with fried potatoes and a side salad. Everything was delicious, the serving sizes were huge! Worth visiting for some German food in the city.

Amazing restaurant, genuine german cuisine. Beautiful ambience, tasty food, great service. The prices are fine. The only negative point is the lack of certain dishes, especiallly if you visit the restaurant in the evening, which makes your choices limited, considering the relatively short menu.

Stopped here for lunch. Great selection of beers, including wheat beer and a very refreshing shandy. Schnitzel is pretty excellent and the service is the restaurant very friendly. If you can (and if it is a sunny day!) get yourself a table on the outside balcony overlooking the canal..! Enjoy..

Pretty good chow. I had the attached schnitzel, another had the pork shank, one had sausages and one had pork loin. Everyone enjoyed their meal, and the service was no issue for us. Food and drink came out timely. Only issue was that we sat indoors and it was pretty warm. Either that or I had the meat sweats not positive, but I assume the prior. Anyway, we had a mixture of ethnic backgrounds amount us so didn't see some of the things I've seen in recent posts. Good food, worth going if your near.

We visited the Brauhaus on our last day of an extensive tour of Northern Europe. Our decision was based in part by the excellent reviews and proximity to our hotel. I have never experienced this level of unprofessionalism in all of my travels. We came in around 1:30pm for drinks and lunch. We were a party of 8 adults, and the beer house was mostly empty. We ordered drinks and, shortly after, ordered lunch. Our drinks arrived as ordered, and in a timely fashion, however after 45 minutes of waiting our lunch had not arrived. We inquired with another waitress about the delay and she told us that it was on its way. We waited another 10 minutes and then decided to inquire further. To our dismay, the waitress that originally took our order had left for the day and did not even bother to out our lunch order to the kitchen. The manager came out and only had apologies, however I cannot imagine that this was the first time it happened, because he seemed indifferent and offered to pay for the drinks. Whatever this waitress was thinking, or her lack of professionalism, this is completely unacceptable. PLEASE STAY AWAY.

Nicely decoreated restaurant with a good menu. I ordered the Braumeisterschnitzel with potatoes and sour cream, which was really tasty and a huge portion! A friend of mine ordered the grilled chicken also with potatoes and said the dish was nice. They serve home brew beer which is good. Prices are a bit above average in my opinion, but the dishes are worth it, given the huge portions and taste. Service is also friendly.

Had lunch at Brauhaus Joh. Albrecht, after a few hours wandering the streets & sights of Hamburg. It's well positioned, just 5 minutes walk from Rathaus metro station. The pork is very well flavoured, and the sausages (wurst) well portioned. The menu is marked with gluten-free options. Our whole table left happily full-up and ready for more walking. Not bad beers also...

I ate here twice and both times a friendly and enjoyable experience although the place was very busy both times. The craft beer was excellent and the food of good quality and value. Would definitely return

This is very very very very very sucks. I had to wait over 30min. after odered and they never explained about it even never said sorry. When I complained about it even one woman staff laughed at me I think it just because I'm asian and she's a racist. If you are non-white people, you'd better not go there ever.

This is not my favorite eatery: way too much cabbage and sausage for my taste.. But when it comes to beer - great spot! Great selection of home brews and always a guest tap! Don't miss if you around Rathaus!

Nice views located on the water. Great selection of beer and traditional German food. Reasonably priced. Service is friendly but slow. Good little place for lunch.
