Breakfast with a view!!! Very delicious breakfast and brunch with a view through the Marienplatz. Sometimes you'll see some celebrities like Lena Gercke.

We looked for a good breakfast place and found a jewel. Very reasonably priced, good portion size, table salt and pepper was not needed and the expresso was good and strong. It was an excellent way to charge up for a football game. The balcony added to the amazing experience.

This is truly hidden amongst the array of shops and cafes in Marienplatz and it is upstairs in a commercial building, tricky to find. We were lucky to find it as you can see from the photo, if it weren't for the sign it would have not been found. Lovely lunch meal here. Quite pricey but it's popular , so you pay for the view and the tasty foods.

This place really does have stunning views over the square and Glockenspiel, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were quite a large group (about 12 people) but they sorted us out a table, which was great of them. The menu is "better than your average" and so costs more than the average. On balance, I'm not sure if the food was worth the extra as it was pretty pricey and the portions very small (it is for this reason that we ate elsewhere on other mornings). Really, you're paying for the view.

We have been coming here for a number of years now and always enjoyed the view out to the Glockenspiel. They have a good selection for breakfast (English menu available) and everything was very fresh and tasty.

Stumbled upon this gem. The service was very good. Portions were abundant. Food was very tasteful. Go and visit as it is well worth it.

We visited here twice on our 5 day visit to Munich and both times the service was excellent and the food of very good quality at a reasonable price. On the first day the cafe was very busy but we only waited 5 minutes to be seated and was served within 10 minutes of been seated. The second time was quiet and again service was very quick. There is a good choice of food / drinks and cakes to choose from. Both meals we had including drinks and cakes were under 35 euro, cheap compared to some of the other major cities we have visited in Europe recently. Would definitely recommend.

A friend recommended Cafe Glockenspiel when visiting Munich, and so we went for dinner. We had a reservation, and as all tables at the window front were taken we took a seat at the bar for a aperitif. A very nice and cozy bar. Our waiter picked us up from there and led to our table. Service was nice, the pretty view of the Marienplatz (just a PEGIDA Bus was a bit of an eye sore) and food was very nice as well. A big thanks to Ismet our waiter who was most personable & generous, and helpful! He let us know that the full length Glockenspiel would be the next morning at 11am. The same table was booked for us for Breakfast (which was great and plentiful as well) and made it possible for us to enjoy breakfast, before heading to the train station for our next train.

Best place to view the spectacle. They served tasty and delicious cakes. they also have sandwiches, the choice are ours. We lingered for a while to view the tower across. And that was the strategic location to view it. We came to know only later after the Glockenspiel.

Located on the top floor of a building facing the Marienplatz of Munich (hence the name), it is very central. They have a good size, well decorated terrasse. The view from the terrasse is not the best but it is quiet. In winter the terrasse is covered, giving a conservatory feeling. The food is very good: international with an Italien touch. They have a large choice of great cocktails that they serve only in the evening (late afternoon).

Tried this place based on other recommendations and we were not disappointed. Our meals were a nice change from the schnitzel/sausages (which I really enjoy, so don't get me wrong). Lamb, risotto, great soup and salads - all great dishes - and the desserts were tasty as well. Menu is entirely in German. In some places the wait staff gets annoyed with tourists, however our waitress spoke great English and was very kind - she probably sees dozens of tourists who speak terrible German, but she treated my family well, and we appreciated that. Service was fast and the view of the New Town Hall was neat from our perch on the 4th or 5th floor of an unassuming building on the Marienplatz.

It is busy but get there early on a Sunday and it is well worth it, great view over the town hall. The food was very good and the service was excellent, particularly for such a busy place.

The cafe Glockenspiel is on the top floor of the building opposite the "new" townhall with the famous Glockenspiel. Slightly difficult to find, but absolutely a "find". Nice dinner, excellent service and beautiful views.

Great and tasty breakfast, and alternatives available from the typical German breakfast foods (bread, meats, eggs, etc). Perfect view overlooking the square. Average coffee, but good for Germany standards. On the expensive side, but most places are in Munich.

We had large breakfast in this cafe and enjoyed our time a lot. The breakfast sets were high quality and diverse. The coffee is not the strongest product in this place, but the nice place and good food compensates that. No wifi and renovation site right opposite the cafe, so the view is not perfect, but still nice.

Can be a bit tricky to find (which means it's not too touristy) as it's up on the 5th floor of it's building. The views are amazing - and a perfect spot for breakfast and watching the glockenspiel. Our waiter was SOOO patient and friendly with us, they have an English menu, but it doesn't have all the items on it so he was able to talk us through the other times after we described what we were looking for. The Americano was a bit weak but the lattes were delicious. All of us were happy with our meals and didn't feel pressured to rush out.

For such an amazing location with a fantastic view of the clock, lovely decor and very yummy cakes I can only give this a 3 because we were made to feel so unwelcome by the staff. It was the only place in Munich we went where we were made to feel unwelcome. I am not surprised that it was pretty much empty at 4.45 (15 minutes before the famous chime). It was pricy which we were happy to pay to get such a good view, but that staff were unwelcoming and pretty rude.
