Directly accross from the Brandenburg Gate, in between Starbucks and the French Embassy, you'll find a Museum called 'THE GATE Berlin'. There you can watch a mulitmedia show over Berlin's fascinating 300 year history. The best and most entertaining way to learn about the Brandenburg Gate and the events that took place there.

One of the most iconic places of the city. It's a great view and very well maintained. I suggest using the opportunity to walk along the boulevard.

You must see the Brandenburg gate and the area close to it. It is a symbol of Berlin, located at a historical area of Berlin.

Brandenburg Gate is a very iconic monument in Berlin and has a real presence about it. We saw it a couple of times on our visit and it was always very busy but worth going too. Word of warning - pick pockets are operating in this area and there is also a scan going on trying to get you to sign a petition and then asking for money - police very hot on them but beware !

One of the most known and iconic places in Berlin. Very beutiful and yet full of tourists along the day. One hour of visit is enough!

The Gate is worth visiting once, while on a Berlin city break/trip. It is a nice piece of history with good vibes.

Still this former royal gate-turned-international icon is endearing in its own way. The old guardhouse and tax office are now selling souvenirs and it's not the same Quadriga that was put up there in the 1700s and later stolen by Napolean .. ("Stolen by Napolean" would be a good name for a band, by the way) The bullet holes are real, though, reminding us that it's most famous role was as an international symbol of Berlin and Germany's division, sitting in the middle of the Death Strip between the two Berlin's as it did. When visiting, make sure to peek into the fantabulous Frank Gehry "DZ Bank" on the north side of Pariser Platz, and also maybe think of the exhibit "The Gate" hiding on the opposite side of the plaza by the French Embassy.

Nice photo opportunity, lots of historical moments have taken place here. So it's worth a visit - it's also close by some memorials that are worth visiting too.

Prior to this trip, the last time I was at Brandenburg gate was in 1991, a year after Germany's reunification. Back then the area in front of the gate was used for impromptu market stalls. Now, the area is a bit too orderly, and is just another large open area for tourist. I have given this site a "Very Good" because, Brandenburg Gate is still an iconic symbol of freedom.

It's worthwhile a visit at day time and also at night. It is really the center of the city. Very cosmopolitan, you can find there people from all over the world.

Brandenburg gate is consistently crowded with tourists, nearly any hour of the day. It is but a fancy gate, but a fancy gate with a rich history.

It is an atmospheric setting; at your back is the hotel Adlon - you can almost hear the history of the Russians burning the place down.

Great place, a must see for any Berlin trip, although beware of the sea of tourists ruining your perfect shot by standing between you and the monument

Cannot go to Berlin and not visit the Brandenburg gate. The symbol of the wall and the struggle of east Berliners. Good starting point for the walk up unter de linden
