The East Side Gallery is an international memorial for freedom. It is a 1.3 km long section of the Berlin Wall located near the centre of Berlin on Mühlenstraße in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg.

Such a famous area with some amazing art work that is a little spoilt by the tourist-shops, and fencing that obscures some of the art. Not great on a rainy day.

This gallery takes the visitor back to the moment of the past. Amazingly artistic, liberal, full of diversity gallery.

Good stretch of the wall but not original art work. The wall is Very much used to become a art gallery which is not what I expected. But it's free and only a short train ride away We went to the wall museum which was good. Don't forget to use berlin card. We did!

By going through this remaining part of the iconic Berlin Wall, it is incredible to admire all the different artistic expressions in it. The symbol of division is now a wonderful place to give an homage to unity and a constant memorial that the walls will eventually fall.

I came at this from Warschauer Strasse heading towards Ostbahnhof. The 'paintings' vastly improved as I went on. Maybe this was a question of personal taste or maybe the placement of them is designed to make you feel a certain way, I don't know. I saw this in the early evening and it was really impressive, perhaps even more so with the light fading in background.

This was the highlight of our trip to Berlin, we loved it!! Colourful, moving, inspiring, and shocking all spring to mind!!! a large section of the wall has been left intact and used as a huge graffitti art gallery!! It gives you a real feel of how it would have felt with the wall there, and a lot of the art expresses past and present frustrations and politics.

I liked it, but not a lot. It was a dull windy rainy day. We spent some time walking to get here. It's good to see but it doesn't have a wow factor.

Great place for a morning walk. It's really nice to discover the huge history of the country just going alongside the painted walls.

When in Berlin you should definitely visit the east side gallery of the berlin walls that remain. The size of the wall gives you an incling of what it used to be like but the art on the walls give it a whole new dimention and gives you enough spots to take pictures of any part that may inspire you or bring out your artistic side. To some this is just a wall with drawings on it, but to others this is a major piece of a heavy history with a modern artistic twist. Decide wether this is worth it for you depending on what type of person you see yourself as.

Spent an hour easy, walking along and looking at the art work. Well lit street so it didn't matter that it was at night, we went around 8pm. It's a shame they have to put up fencing to stop people drawing graffiti over the artwork. I think it's great they've used this piece of history as a platform for artists.

Luckily for Germany the "wall" had come down by the time I visited but this museum is well worth a visit. Anyone with a sense of history will find East Side Gallery interesting and fascinating.

Very interesting, some great art, very sobering to remember how people had to exist in Berlin in the very recent past.

The longest surviving stretch of the Berlin Wall (I believe). We made this out first stop after leaving the airport upon arrival into Berlin. The sheer length is a harrowing reflection of the oppressive nature of the wall, but brought to life with artistry depicting both the triumph and jubilation of the locals when the wall came down, as well as the oppression felt by many from its existence.

First we passed this stretch on our Trabi-safari and decided we had to come back so we could really take our time to look at all the art on the wall. So we walked over on Oberbaumbrücke" coming off the U-bahn station "Bhf Schlesisches Tor" and walked along the wall on Mühlerstrasse. What an amazing collection of art of different character- though all with the same message - Peace and understanding. Breathtaking! Take your time!

This is a mile long wall of art. It's so nice and thought provoking. I was pleasantly surprised, by how nice it is. I thought it would be more grafiiti than art, but it was more art than graffiti. I totally understand this is subjective though.

The East Side Gallery is the longest portion of the wall remaining, Altought is somewhat far away from the city center it is worth the visit, You can see there some beautifull graffitis and is a good place for an hour long walk.

Worth spending the time walking along the river passing the East Side Gallery. Some great photo opportunities, especially in winter as the snow begins to fall. Allow enough time for a slow walk.
