Food is really good. Staff is not very friendly. They would literally physically push you out of their way because they are on hurry.

This is a very large beer garden near the Nymphenberg palace. There is plenty of self-service seating, and the restaurant is also fairly large. The menu of the restaurant has more entrees available, including some game selections. The beer is delicious and Augustiner. The service was very friendly. Enjoy the grounds. The day we went there was a small carnival/bazaar. Very pleasant way to spend a day.

Nice place to have gathering and enjoy local beer with snacks. They serve International cuisine. Food test was good; we were approx 150 Indian guest and almost 70% guest were vegetarian (do not eat even egg); and all manage to get get something for them. They serve Beer only on table; if you are standing they will not serve you drinks.

This is a classic German beer house. Except the outdoor seating is like nothing I've ever seen before. I don't even know where all the people would come from as this place is in a residential neighborhood. Large amounts of beer and large amounts of food. If you are not used to eating that much, plan to share your plates. Very good!

Hundreds of tables and a large variety of food and drink to choose from. You can either get the food yourself at the kiosks or sit at the Hirschgarten Restaurant tables (the ones with the tableclothes) and order off the menu. Although we noticed the wait staff were more than happy to get you anything from the kiosks as well. The Hirschgarten was within easy walking distance from our hotel, so after a long day of sightseeing, we relaxed there for a few hours. There is plenty of shade provided by the trees and the numerous umbrellas. All the food we had was amazing, and everything was decently priced.

Simple. 2nd largest beergarden in the world (according to Guinness), but I'll bet this has the most charm. Find a table, grab a beer, snack on a pretzel or something larger, and park yourself beside the Deer garden (self titled - Hirschgarten in German). Bring the kids, and enjoy the show when the woman with the apples in the picnic basket starts feeding the wildlife. I miss Munich already.

Beer is cold and served quickly, as is the food. Pork knuckle is a must, with tender fall off the bone meat and crisp golden crackling.

We went to this place because of recommendations. Foods are all right and so is the pricing compared to other restaurants in Munich or Berlin. But the waiter seems to have bias about Chinese tourists. He was seriously impatient when we asked for recommendations at the beginning. Not happy to ask any of our questions later. Then when we pay the deal, he asked for tips straight way. If you want a tips, at least you have to do something right. We ended up with no tips, and guess what he comment: nobody likes to serve Chinese because Chinese don't pay tips...What a arrogant guy...

We enjoyed this place so much that we went twice during our recent stay in Munich. They claim to be the largest beer garden in Bavaria holding up to 8,000 people. It’s not really all that huge since basic seating is for 1,200 and the restaurant can hold 500. in any case, one day we ate from the food stands section and on the other day in the restaurant. The setting is really pretty with lots of trees and grass with a small deer park nearby. The beer garden section has tables that will seat six or more people and are spread out nicely. You do not need to leave a deposit on a beer mug, which makes it easier than some gardens. The first night we had roast chicken, spare ribs, and a selection of sausages including a great currywurst. The sauerkraut was especially good. And what a surprise – we had lots of beer! We ate in the restaurant the next night but still had outside seating under umbrellas. The menu was much more ambitious than just sausages! There were four of us and we sampled a venison stew (remember that deer park??) with a great dark sauce, roast venison, and a mixed grill with pork shank, duck, and pork roast. Dessert was apple strudel and apple fritters. And beer. This was a really fun place with really good food. We seemed to be the only English speakers in the place (with the exception of the wait staff fortunately!). Highly recommended!

This place is huge! We ate at the restaurant 2 nights ago n a row - partially because it was good but also convenient for very jet lagged travellers. My teens loved the atmosphere and lower drinking age for beer /wine. The pork knuckle is served punctured with a knife which was also a hit. The deer stew was very tasty as were the rest of the dishes. Our servers were helpful but efficient as you would expect in Germany

We came here twice because the first time we had such a good time. The first time we did the self service. The food was great and there was a huge selection. It was nice to be able to go and get food whenever you feel like it and not have to wait for a waiter/waitress. I would definitely recommend the chicken, it's delicious! The second time we went to the service part of the place. Food again was very good but overall I preferred self service.

We were told this is the largest biergarten in Europe. The food and beer were delicious. The amount of food was very large. Service was great and they also bought baskets of pretzels to the table. We ate inside because it was cool outside. By 6:00 PM, the place was packed. We enjoyed this place very much.

This place is quiet far our of town (about 10-12 euro taxi ride) and definitely doing it like the locals. The location is in the park and it is very pleasant. Tables with a tablecloth are serviced by waiters from the restaurant. Tables without a tablecloth are for self service from any of a number of vendors. We used the restaurant on two occasions. The menu is extensive, the food is good, the portions are big. We shared main courses and they were big to share. Prices are ok - certainly better than the more touristy joints in the city.

We were there in Spring before the outdoor beer garden season. A ten minute walk from our hotel in a quiet neighborhood. Good, authentic fare at reasonable prices.

I walked around München for hours trying to find a typical Bavarian eatery before stumbling upon this place. The food was pleasant and the beer was fantastisch. The staff all speak German, naturally, and they were very forgiving of my poor attempts at Deutsch. I had a large Weiß Bier and a pork based meal for under €20, which I don't think is excessive. This place is definitely worth a visit if you are passing, however it did not 'wow' me enough to make a special trip.

Our first night in Munich, and what a delicious Pils! Tasty and hearty Bavarian food. We were there for white "spargle" season, and the soup was Fantastic. As was the schnitzel. Happy servers, tried their best with our English, a really fun time. We went back!
