I have been a few times in the past where the food was decent. This place has gone down hill, and owner is rude. Mussels were not fresh , tiny portion of shrimp as a main course. When the owner was questions his response was " you go see how expensive shrimp are to buy , good luck ! " .....would never go back.

A pretty expensive place to eat a good pizza or massa (Italian food). The taste was satisfactory and there are a variety of wine. Italian food that we tried was really good. The waiter is so kind. The access is easy.

Dinner with friends. Restaurant wasn't busy so we were never rushed to leave after settling our bill. Service is excellent, prompt, made a custom drink for one person based on their preferences. Food is good. Had Sip pizza where the ricotta and ham are in the folded portion of the thin crust pizza. Risotto was a gigantic serving and flavourful! I enjoyed having it with two meals the following day. Being just off from Yonge very little street noise to interrupt your conversations. Look forward to returning.

My husband and I went to dinner there tonight, June 12. The pizza diavolo was delicious, the wine was good and the tiramisu with Bailey's was outstanding. So was the service, our waiter was excellent. We are definitely going back regularly.

I had lunch with a friend and I used a Groupon that allowed for a $40 spend. We split an appetizer (salad) and pizza just because we didn't want to have to take leftovers back with us. She had been before and raved about the lasagne (which isn't on the menu, must have been a special at the time). We had the white (potato) pizza and the arugula and brie/pear salad. The brie chunks were like the smallest Lego cube and were somewhat tasteless. The dressing was overly sweet, made with honey as the dominant flavour. It took almost two hours to get through our lunch and it was not busy, since we arrived at 1:30, almost at the end of lunch. We both had a white wine spritzer ($11.50 ea, not priced on the menu). Would I go again? Probably not. I'm not really sure why the reviews are mostly good or even great ratings.

I'm not sure if it pressured is the right word but our server seemed disinterested in serving yet also just wanting to get our orders and meals over with. I'm not super picky, but my napkin fell on the floor, and he folded it and tossed it on the table in front of me - Not super hygienic, and most places I've been would have brought a new one. The spot is really nice, and the food was tasty (though Toronto prices). The place smells amazing and it seemed like there were lots of regulars which is always a good sign!

Whether going for drinks, a light bite, dinner, or a group event, this place is right for you. Not too dark or light or this way or that. Friendly staff and good menu. Hidden around the corner to make you feel more exclusive. Washrooms & groups downstairs.

Our pizza, salad and wine were delicious but unfortunately I had my wallet stolen while there. Watch your purses ladies!

Had the chicken, veal chops and penne. The only one that was satisfactory was the Penne. But even that they left us a shake bottle of kraft Parmesan cheese and not fresh grated ones. The chicken was dry and the veal was undercooked. For the veal we weren't given a steak knife and no one offered fresh ground pepper. The price was on the high side for the portion (8oz for both) and the quality was substandard. Had better with lower price and better quality.

Came pretty early on a Saturday afternoon around 4pm Server (a Canadian tall man) was very friendly and welcoming....he offered good service and the food was amazing good fresh burrata with amazing fresh prosciutto good pizza overall good fresh authentic Italian ingredients (kitchen consists of Italians)the prices are a bit high but this is normal you get what you pay for fresh good ingredients do cost money, if you want a cheap precooked pasta full of garlic and cream sauce for $12-14 there is plenty other places you can go to!

Went to this restaurant after being given discount coupons. We ordered the least expensive menu items--pizzas--which were edible but extremely bland. My mushroom pizza featured only cremini mushrooms. Mixed seafood appetizer which we shared was deep fried, greasy and tasteless. The wine prices were half again the normal rate, and every menu item was ridiculously overpriced. Total was $118 for 3 people without dessert or any substantial entrees. Watch out!

Very nice list of wines by the glass. Perfectly cooked pasta. Delicious ravioli stuffed with beef & lamb in a fontina cheese cream sauce. Would go back to try pizza at lunch. Busy on Saturday night -- a good sign and a bit noisy for those who are hard of hearing.

This is a wonderful authentic little Italian restaurant in a great location. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and Alessandro was an excellent server. Highly recommend the pizza and meatballs were scrumptious. Very reasonably priced options available, will be back!

My boyfriend and I made a reservation for an early Valentines day dinner at this restaurant and our expectations were exceeded. I must note that I am vegan so I usually always call before I go to a restaurant to let them know of my dietary restrictions and to see what options they may have available for me to order. We spoke to Alex on the phone (and he ended up be our waiter too) and he ensured us that they are open to modifications to make their menu items vegan. I ended up ordering the veggie pizza with no cheese and added some extra veg to fill me up, it was phenomenal! We started with a salad to share.. I believe it was called the insalata mista.. or something along those lines, which was crisp and tasty! My boyfriend (not vegan) ordered one of the pizzas with salami and he said it was some of the best wood fired oven pizza he has ever had! We ordered the house red to go along with dinner which was very reasonably priced. The service was exceptional, Alex was on point, he made me feel so welcome as a vegan. Highly recommenced this place! We will back, thank you for the lovely evening.

Italian owned, Italian run, and with Italian people running this wine bar/ eatery - this place can do no wrong. Delicious wine, artisan, authentic eats, and a vibrant atmosphere to match - this place is one of the best. Don't go anywhere else! The staff and owner Vince, make this place an elegant and extra special choice, all in Midtown Toronto!

I really enjoyed coming to Sip Wine Bar, the pizzas were delicious. It is such a nice little spot, great food, atmosphere and a nice wine collection. Our server was amazing, always checked up on us and made sure everything was fine. It's a good spot to go on dates, meetings, family or friends. I would recommend going there!

It was a freezing night and our first idea was top go to a big chain resto with our daughter who was back from school for the holiday break. When that didn't work we said lets's try Sip where they'd both been before but I hadn't. Anyway the maitre'd was running a busy night but did a full count and got us a table which was grand. They have a nice wine selection and if you're not fussy the house wine by the glass or 1/2 litre is affordable and pleasant. The servers are friendly efficient and they know their stuff. You get the sense they're like a family. Lovely warm bread is offered with dips, great food to share - amazing meatballs, Sip Pizza is a gem and penne pasta were all excellent. They have very reasonable prices and fun atmosphere. I can see why it was busy and want to go back soon to try several more items.

Love the atmosphere and the service. I had a pizza and it was probably the best I tried in Toronto so far. I would recommend it.

We came here with a Groupon, having tried to get in a couple of weeks ago, but this place is often busy, which is good. The staff all seem to be Italian, and it adds a certain sense of authenticity to the meal. Service was really good, as was the food. We were served a 2014 wine when we had ordered a 2011, and we pointed that out to the server who obviously knew of the issue, so our bill was adjusted. I just wondered why we were not told up front..... we knew because the wine tasted young for a 2011 so we checked the label....... felt a bit funny. I think this place has the potential to be amazing, but wonder if the consistency is there. Hope they find it!

Went to dinner to celebrate a 57th anniversary in a no rush mode while visiting Toronto. Location and public parking were great - most diners were observed to be enjoying their wine and meal. Our waiter more senior appearing than others; took some time appearing at our table; brought menu and hurried us to order our food at same time as our wine. Within 7-8 minutes our entrees were brought to table by another server; prior to our water and wine. We let them sit and awaited our beverages; then had to ask for bread and condiments. Needless to say; it was a disappointing experience and my husband's attitude became very angry. We observed normal delivery of drinks and food at most tables.
