    I have traveled all over the world and dined in many top restaurants - and this was the best meal of my life. Hands down. A+ service, A+ food, and A+ atmosphere. We tried the wild mushroom appetizer and the escargot - both were to die for. For dinner I had the seafood platter and my partner had the sirloin. Both were incredible. We concluded our meal with the cherries jubilee. Do not miss this restaurant.

    We really enjoyed our lunch and service at Le Continental. The dining room is formal and elegant but relaxed. We felt quite at home and the staff welcomed us without being intrusive. Our main server was superb and humoured us with our many questions about the preparation of the filet mignon. The atmosphere was so nice and quiet and we were able to talk without the usual noise and loud music in many restaurants. After a soggy morning of tramping around the city and getting thoroughly soaked, it was lovely to be able to sit in the warmth and ambience of the dining room and escape the rain for a while. All in all, we would highly recommend Le Continental for the food, service and atmosphere.

    Le Continental is always one of our first reservations on our yearly visits to the city, always excellent, always reliable, always a pleasing experience. The menu is extensive, service first rate, food of a high order. Dining standards in Quebec City are very demanding and Le Continental has long met or exceeded those lofty standards.

    My wife and I visited Le Continental for the first time one cold October night. All of the staff were male and dressed formally. We got a bottle of wine (bottles start around $45) and escargot for a starter. The service was the 5 star kind, very formal, new silverware for each course, etc. We both ordered the filet which was prepared table side, flambe style. Very cool! My secret tip for dinner, if you and another diner are both ordering the filet, consider splitting a plate. The filet was probably 8-10 oz., very large for a filet. At $54 ea, this will help save a little. Bon appetite!

    Absolutely best Caesar Salad and Tenderloin. Sebastian was our table cook and entertainer! A great bottle of St Emilion topped it off. It was a Tuesday and not busy so we had a Corner all to ourselves. We will be returning!

    We were there three years ago and it is as good, if not better than the last time. We live in California, where they do not flambe anything, so this experience is wonderful! Everything was perfection!

    Great location, great food and great service. One of the best French food I Canada! They have only limited wine selection. However it matches the beef I have today! Will come back tomorrow for the snail and shrimp combination.

    My wife and I came to this restaurant to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. I definitely made the right choice! The food was sumptuous, perfectly prepared, served with style, and the best meal we have had in a long time. The wine list is quite extensive and we chose an Italian wine that was simply perfect and the price was more than reasonable! Next, the food. The Escargot in the appetizer were huge and after eating them I devoured the rest of the sauce with the bread as it was better than delicious - the word spectacular comes to mind. Next we ordered Chateaubriand for two. Delivered to the table on a huge tray with potatoes and vegetables. The server placed the tray on a small copper stove to stay hot. He placed the steak on a cutting board and sliced it - of course it was prepared exactly as requested - medium-rare. The meat was shared between our two plates. Next, the vegetables (still on the tray staying hot) were shared between our plates and we were served. Wow! The presentation was only surpassed by the taste of this absolutely delicious meal. Now the dessert. We ordered the Pernod Pears. Our server used the copper stove and a copper pan to prepare the pears right in front of us. Again, the presentation was superb only to be eclipsed by the taste of this wonderful dessert. This restaurant is the best place to eat in Quebec City. Everyone including the Maitre d' Matthew and our servers Hogo and Umberto were friendly, accommodating, and professional. It is rare to find such a wonderful French Style restaurant that adheres to the finest french style cooking and serving. Whatever you choose to eat, you will not be disappointed here!!!

    If you are looking for a great French restaurant and are willing to pay the price for excellent food, this is the place for you! This was just not a restaurant it was a dining experience, that we will never forget! This was some of the best food we have ever tasted, perfectly cooked. Highly recommend!

    LeContinental is NOT just "eating out". It is fine dining and, yes, you are going to pay for it. Worth every penny. $248 CAD (without tip) earned us an evening to remember. One cocktail, an exquisite bottle of wine, Lobster bisque with more lobster than some lobster rolls, escargot, tableside Caesar salad for two, tableside filet mignon and tableside peppercorn sirloin. Our water glasses rarely got half full before being refilled, the bread was baguette -- some natural, some toasted. The steaks were perfectly cooked -- hard to believe the filet could be done medium as thick as it was, but it was. The sauces were amazing ... nice touch on the filet that they strain the sauce over the steak while warming the plate on the tableside flame. Steaks served with just the right size accompaniment of whipped potatoes and an assortment of vegetables. We did not get to dessert... could not eat another bite, however saw another table having crepe Suzette prepared and it looked wonderful. Wonderful place for a special treat while in an amazingly charming city.

    Dinner at Le Continental was an amazing experience! We were promptly seated at a very nice table for two by the windows, overlooking their patio. We shared the seared foie gras appetizer, shrimp cocktail, and table side Caesar salad for two, which was as good as any Caesar salad as I have ever had before. I enjoyed the Scampi Newburg main course, while my companion had their special filet en boite. Both were exceptional. The meals tasted excellent, the table side flambé preparation was fun, and our server/chef Pierre was friendly and professional. I would put Le Continental as one of my top 5 favorite restaurant experiences, I would definitely return!

    We dined here on the last day of our 5 week holiday and was certainly a special meal. Having your steak cooked at the table and flambed was awesome. I would also recommend the crepe suzette.

    I've been coming to old Quebec for three years... and I never had the chance to plan a dinner here. Amazing experience!! Gee took care of our table of 4. We had dinner and dessert prepared table side and it was great! You really want to experience this. It's worth every dollar.

    Atmosphere, service and food very good. Had the chateubrien for two and it was cooked perfect then seared at our table. Served with 8 different fresh cooked vegetables. Bread was also very good. Only thing missing that would have complimented the meal was a salad, should be included. This restaurant was recommended by our limo driver when we mentioned we were celebrating our milestone anniversary.

    The restaurant are for people who like to be serve and cook by the table. If you do not mind the area that are full of cooking smell on the skirt because they cook in front of you. The Caesar Salad for two are nice as it is their specialty.

    Lovely restaurant .the sweetbreads were outstanding .veal saltimbocca was very good.the waiters do their own Cesar salads and meat flambees. Very impressive .

    We had a really mixed experience in this classic and traditional restaurant. The service was excellent, the ambience was elegant. The appetizer and dessert courses were very innovative and exciting, combining superb flavors, unexpected flavors and ingredients, and plating. Really too bad about the 2 main courses. We had Veal Tenderloin and Saltimbocca. Both meats were excellent. The problem was the rest of the plate. BOTH dishes had the exact same sides: a mound of tasteless mashed potatoes, a plop of pureed carrots, and 4 bland, steamed, vegetable pieces. Did the chef not notice how inferior this was? One of these dishes was $54; I should have been overwhelmed by flavors. Instead, it seemed that this portion of the meal was delegated to someone who used to work in a nursing home. NO creativity, no excitement, no perfect meal. Foodies - stay away.

    A group of 8 of us enjoyed this restaurant tonight. Our reservation was for 7:30 and we didn't leave until 10:00, I'm not complaining at all, but don't expect a quick meal. It's an experience, like a dinner and a show. Everything was so delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meals and desserts, and watching our server make or flambé peppercorn steak and Caesar salad table side, was so neat. Our server Michel was a PRO, and worked so extremely hard. He was informative, funny, helpful, professional and kind. I would highly recommend this place to everyone wanting a delicious meal, in a great atmosphere, with a bit of entertainment as well. :)

    I was traveling solo and booked a last minute dinner date with myself there for my 30th birthday. The restaurant is in a convenient location and easy to find. I love the ambience once inside. The setup is neat, clean, comfortable and lovely. It would be ideal for dinner with others (even though I went alone). This place definitely lives up to its endless good reviews. The food was wonderful. The service was quick. I ordered the Newberg's scampi flambè and thoroughly enjoyed the tableside cooking. I would recommend this place and would also like to return next time ok in this area. Many reviews stated it would be $150 or more - I didn't order a 3 course meal; that's just too much food for me to finish. I ordered the main entree, dessert, and a glass of wine. It was roughly $101 cad or $88 usd.
