We arrived after a 10 day cruise and got our room at 0915 in the morning a great bonus. The room was comfortable and well appointed with all necessary facilities. It is situated just outside the old town at the top side. Five minutes from the hotel is Porte Saint Jean and then Rue Saint Jean eventually leading to the Hotel Frontenac. On Rue Saint Jean and the streets around there are many restaurants. cafes and bars including unfortunately two Irish Pubs, why are they everywhere? Quebec City is a lovely French city and from the Hotel Frontenac it is a fairly gentle walk down to the port and you can always get the Funicular back up. I would have given this hotel five stars but we had breakfast in the restaurant one day and it was unbecoming of the hotel with a poor choice and having to be eaten in extremely cramped surroundings. Surely they could do better! Also the wi-fi in the room was paid for unless you had a Marriott Rewards Card fortunately I have!

We were at this hotel three years ago and wanted to stay there again....the room was nice, but the restaurant has changed and the service was good, but not on par with other Marriott hotels. On our first trip, we spent every evening having a nightcap in the bar, this time there was no one in the bar at night. The only time that i saw the restaurant and bar full was in the morning when they had included breakfast---but not the whole array of breakfast food, only the cold ones. Amazing, the first time I have EVER seen this! As for a concierge, there is none. It is the bell person who brings your bags. Te same person made restaurant reservations and car arrangements. As far as city center, the hotel is near a walking street, but not close to the Chateau Frontenac or the Old Port. Not as impressed as I was.

Not a very large hotel but ideally located. A supermarket not far from hotel and an easy walk to restaurants, tourist locations and river front. Room had fridge and tea/coffee facility, ice machine on floor and staff very friendly. Free wi/fi only available in hotel lobby.

We had a 3 night stay here recently, which we booked quite close to our arrival. Consequently there was not a large choice of rooms available, so we were happy with the accommodation, though the room was a bit smaller than we would usually prefer. The location, however, was excellent, We were able to walk to all the available attractions, including the Citadel, the Fields of Abraham, Old Town, the Boardwalk etc. Quebec City stole our hearts and we enjoyed immensely just walking out of the hotel and following the cobblestone streets down to the harbour. Breakfast at the hotel was reasonably priced and good quality, though a bit slow. The staff could not have been more helpful or welcoming and were quite lovely to us. Free wifi was provided. I highly recommend this hotel

I had a wonderful time here with my then boyfriend. We didn't break up because of this hotel experience, but because his idea of "spicing" things up was a bit to strange for my taste. Regardless, this hotel was really picture perfect for us. We live in the are but we wanted to do something fun and spontaneous. So we bought several bottles of wine, a bag of thumb tacks and a pink doughnut. We also rented a room here. It was clean and comfortable. I highly recommend!

Great stay from the minute we arrived. We checked in late on a Thursday night and we were kindly greeted by Evelyn, who assisted us. Hotel is clean, comfort, the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Great location to walk to the historic Old town where you can find many restaurants and shops.

On five night stay as a Marriott rewards member. Chose the Marriott QC hotel after reading reviews about location and service. The reviews are correct. Super location and staff go above and beyond to service quests. The hotel does not offer a consigner lounge but does offer upper reward members with breakfast vouchers. Food is very good be it the buffet or made to order offerings. The restaurant could improve its evening presentation by utilizing table clothes and table lighting. The hotel is one block from the entrance to the old city and the excitement it offers. As a dense city, all points of interest and restaurants are within walking distance. As we arrived by train, the taxi ride was about 5 minutes. Booked the Quebec City hop on hop off bus tour and discounted harbor cruise. Also booked the Country tour of falls, St Annes cathedral, Orleans island and other included sights. Very good value. The hotel is within walking distance of so many restaurants including Cafe de Paris and Le Veau D'or. Both highly recommended. If you are looking for fine crafted art and crafts, the old city has many fine shops and galleries. Do not forget to enjoy the fine ice cream and sorbets. We were upgraded to a corner high floor old Quebec city view room. Even though this hotel could benefit from carpet and furnishing update, it is well maintained and very clean. Thank you to house keeping staff for excellent service. The Navigator staff are exceptional. This is a well managed hotel and staff are excellent. Great stay!!!

The room was inferior for the price. Very disappointed. The room was dated and needed updating. The view was of the building next door and we were by the elevator. I guess being a Marriot rewards member didn’t help with a better room. Good location to walk.

The entrance is small and the rest is Marriott standards. Enjoyable, clean and very friendly staff. Conviently located and within walking distance to both new and old Quebec. I will return to this hotel when visiting again.

The hotel location is fantastic, however, I thought the hotel looked "tired" compared to the price. Even though I understand you pay a premium for the location, it needs a face lift. The hotel room was small but that didn't bother me as much as the overall appearance of the room and hallways.

The hotel is right outside the city walls, very close to the St. Jean neighborhood and walking distance to Grand Alle, which has many trendy restaurants. Everything is within walking distance from it this hotel, including Old Quebec. Rooms were very spacious and beds were very comfortable. All the staff we encountered were extremely friendly and helpful; especially the concierge trio of Pascal, Michael and Xavier. Their recommendations were spot on and we enjoyed all the restaurants and bars.

This hotel is right outside the city walls and by the St. Jean neighborhood that is full of restaurants. Everything is in walking distance from it. The rooms were nice-- nothing fancy but spacious and clean. The concierge was friendly and helped us make restaurant recommendations.

Loved our stay at Hotel Marriott Quebec City Center. Pascal welcomed us and continued to be our personal concierge for our whole stay. Warm and friendly bilingual service throughout. We walked the entire old city from this excellent location.

The hotel is only a few steps outside Old Quebec & within easy walking distance to many great restaurants and historic sites. We had exceptional service from valet/doormen, hotel restaurant & bar waitstaff and concierge. They were friendly and very helpful in answering questions and providing information about the area. The hotel restaurant food was good and reasonable for the convenience. We had 3 rooms and they were each okay but not exceptional. We have platinum elite status but it was not recognized in manner of other Marriott hotels. We were very disappointed in that aspect of our stay. Our other negative comment is about the attitude of most of the front desk staff. One male in particular was less than friendly, had a pretentious air and seemed bothered by the guests of hotel. There are few options for Marriott brand hotels close to Old Quebec. If we returned, we would most likely stay again because of the convenience but would have lower expectations for reward status upgrades.

Stayed while on business in QC. The hotel is just outside the old city gates so not as expensive as accommodations within the old town but still walking distance to the attractions. Room was nicely appointed with desk, fridge, etc. Pretty standard accommodations and soon in need of modernization however if you secure a good rate it is good value.

My husband and I stayed here for one night on a trip out east. The valet and check-in was quick and smooth. The room was small but clean and nice. The view was horrible, unfortunately. It was of a interior brick wall. But once you walk out the front door of the hotel, you are only steps away from the wall of the old town. Although our stay was short, we enjoyed it and would love to stay again some day.

Very Expensive Hotel for what you get. Parking is over 30 dollars a day yet there is a public parking garage next to the hotel. The room we had was extremely small and the prices changed upwards for the second night. When I mentioned this unusual Marketing Strategy to the front desk the price was cheerfully returned to the original amount by a very astute Manager. Breakfast, when ordered from the menu, was excellent!. I did not have the buffet. Service from all the staff was excellent except one new waitress in the restaurant who seemed unable to focus on her duties or her customers. There was a limited view of the Saint John Gate from an arrow slit window. We had limited privacy because of an Office High Rise across the street from our room. If I had to do it again, I'd stay at the Delta or the Hilton nearby though I did appreciate all the employees and their courtesy.

Stayed here for two nights for a girls' weekend and fully enjoyed our stay... Upon arrival, I believe they were a little short staffed, so check in was a little delayed since the reception clerk was also acting as concierge...but the friendly service with a smile made up for the waiting time.. The location is excellent..just outside the Porte de St.Jean.. gateway into the old city... dozens of restaurants just a two minute walk away... The room was clean and linens as well as bed were very comfortable..with plenty of room for the three of us.. Only two minor complaints were that the hair dryer is a little dinky and the tv placement was a little awkward to watch from the second bed.. The hotel's greatest asset is their "aim to please " staff. ... always smiling and helpful.. I will certainly return to Quebec and stay at this Marriott again and would recommend to anyone..
