small, dark space with attentive, friendly and professional service. We had and liked the popcorn gnocci and the brussel sprout ceaser. Oysters had good flavor but they might have been rushing the shucking because a few of them had shell or grit in them. We also had another dish - I think it was the burrata which was ok. We really liked the bread we ordered with the burrata, it was grilled and tasty We really did enjoy the downtown/west side/friendly hipster feel of this place. The meal was a little on the high side of "mid-range": with a bottle of wine, one cocktail (AMAZING but pricey) and tip I think it was $150 for two people. This place is really close to us so we will be back with friends. Do not bring children here; this is a place for grown ups to have a meal and a few drinks. Would be good on a date

I was a bit surprised this place was so well recommended. It looks like it has a intimate atmosphere with only 5 tables. Walking around Dundas there were so many places bustling. Most of the food was pretty good, but heavy. Their in-house burrata though is nothing special. It was somewhat interesting but I'm in a rush to go back.

Mr. Flamingo has a very small menu - just eleven options between starters and mains - but it is executed almost perfectly. We dined at the restaurant on a Wednesday which turned out to be most fortuitous - oysters are offered at just $1 a piece that day. I ordered a dozen to start my dinner and watched them being shucked - they were unbelievably fresh and served with three sauces and freshly shaved horseradish. The burrata - made fresh in house - together with the ceviche also proved to be exceptional choices. Both were deemed to be among the best we've ever had. For our mains, two of us ordered the pan roasted trout - a decent sized portion which is accompanied by a very good vegetable and sunchoke hash. The other main ordered was the gnocchi served with mushrooms, peas, mint and ricotta chess - also excellent. For dessert we shared the brownie - an incredible creation served with caramel, peanut butter mousse and graham crumble. The service was very good, the prices reasonable (all items are priced at $18 or less except the rib eye) and the dining room comfortable though on the small size. Our only beef - when full the dining rooms gets extremely noisy making it quite difficult to hear the conversation around your own table. Do give Mr. Flamingo a try - you won't be disappointed.

We were six and so it just made sense to order the whole menu. Now, we all have good appetites and three of us had been competing in a swim meet but still, it's a pretty good idea to sample everything this place makes if you have the numbers. Small plates (except for the great steak) covered everything from salad to gnocchi to tartare and ceviche to the aforementioned steak. We tried a couple of cocktails and a delicious red and wrapped it all up with a shared brownie. Wow!!!

We arrived on a Saturday night around 8:30 & were told everything was booked for reservations. The host was so helpful, got our number & told us he’d do what he could. He got us a spot at the bar 30 minutes later and it was really great. The drinks were delicious, we tried a bit of everything. The bartender was from Manchester, was super helpful & friendly. We got oysters to start which were quite fresh, and then the gnocchi & cod cheeks with popcorn puree – which was SO tasty! The portions were a little small to be honest, and the bill was quite pricey, but it was a wonderful experience, delicious & different food, so it was worth it. Cool atmosphere, well set up as well. Definitely worth checking out.

My boyfriend and I came here lastnight by randomly stumbling upon it. The menu is quite simple, we ordered salad/gnocchi/fries/beer. Let me tell you the food took less than 10 minutes to come out and was DELICIOUS. The prices are very fair, servers very friendly, and awesome food. This is a great spot for a date or just for a bite to eat.

We sat at the bar as they had a big party coming in. Would first off like to say that the service was fabulous! For food we had; Burata - made in house was done very nicely Steak tartar - excellent very nice touch with the quail egg Mushroom risotto - done very nicely Olives - really tasty Cocktails Had a couple tequila cocktails that were some of the best cocktails I've ever had. Its a great vibe, they have the vinyl records turning and the service was attentive. Cool date spot.

Food was boring and average quality, very little creativity to the menu. The lobster oysters and sea bream were good, the burrata, doughnut and risotto were all bad. Toronto has so many great restaurants, this one won't make the short list. On top of it being mediocre it's not cheap, dinner for two was $130 + tip.

We popped in here for a quick cocktail on the walk back to the hotel. So glad we did. The specialty cocktails were fantastic, the bartender was sweet and entertaining. Visit here for sure.

An extremely pleasant surprise. Mr. Flamingo's delivered a great evening. The service was great, unique cocktails, and a sharing menu that surprises the senses. The lobster baked oysters are amazing, burrata to die for, great duck and a risotto worth having. It's quaint and comfortable with surprisingly great food. Make sure to make reso's -- you'll need them. I'll be spending a few more evenings here.

Food was creative in preparation and well presented. Only complaint was that they charged us $4 for bread with an appetizer and didn't tell us up front. Food was great but VERY small portions. I wouldn't go back if I was really hungry.

Went there for late dinner and drinks on a busy Friday evening. Before reaching a verdict about the place being another typical hipster bar, we decided to give it a shot as we had heard good comments about it. The place features an interesting list of cocktails and a selection of dishes to accompany them with, but opted for a light Italian white wine instead. We had the steak tartare with quail yolk to start with which was lovely despite my initial reservation. We then tried the tuna with the " movie theatre popcorn sauce" which was an interesting combination and the papardelle with duck confit ragu, again another interesting twist of the traditional ragu pasta. Although the bar was really busy, the service was impeccable. Would definitely return to try the cocktails and the rest of the menu.
