A bit disappointed, mussels were really not great for the price, the rest was all-rightish, I think the other restaurants in the area we have tried have been better

This was a treat. A relaxing early afternoon sitting outside having a dry white and savouring the fish fondue. The best comes last when you drink the remaining broth. Great concept - we will try at home !

such great meat and fast service. The waiters were extremely helpfull. The location next to the canal is very original, in summer it must be lovely to sit outside on the large terras.

I ordered scampi with pasta in garlic sauce (cost 22,5 euro). Pasta came way over cooked and it was literally swimming in oil. It looked like oil soup with noodles and shrimps (they were also over cooked and oily). Service was very friendly though and accommodating. Would never go back there.

Ordered filet pur, it was overcooked, gray and very dry. Huge disappointment compared to a previous visit.

We ate there twice on a recent visit, including New Year's Eve. The owners and staff are really friendly and we were made to feel very welcome. It's clearly a popular place and it has a really good atmosphere. Everything we ate was good quality.....we highly recommend.

Very nice place ! We both took the local specialities, Gentse Waterzooi and Stoofvlees !! Good portions, good service, clean restaurant, friendly waiters, in fact we had a great evening. Price is very good compared to the dishes we had !! We will go back !

If the season permits and seats are available, sit outside to enjoy the terrace and the canal area. Seating is a bit cramped though. We did not have reservations but were fortunate to have the hostess give us a table after a five minute wait. We both ordered the was red pesto, the other white wine. Portions were generous and very good. Meal came with a heaping of fries (reorder extra for free if you want) and a sampling of soup and hors d'ouevre. 25 euro per bowl of mussels. 75 cl Bottle water 6.20 euro....get regular water!

Rather overrated on tripadvisor, it is OK, but not great. Quantities are considerable. Very busy restaurant (reserve!!!), also a great bustle. Lively, but not suitable for a quiet dinner. The sardines were so-so. The steak tartare also not so great.

This restaurant is located opposite the Marriott hotel in a splendid old building. It has a large terraced area to the front which is very popular in the right weather. If the weather is not suitable for outside dining this restaurant has a very pleasant interior. It is very popular with locals taking advantage of the good value two course lunch time offer. We chose instead to have a number of small plates for a tapas style lunch. The food and service were very good. The tables are quite close together. It was a very pleasant lunch time.

A delicious lunch had by all of us. I had the mussels and frites a Belgian classic which was excellent and my friend had the grilled Sardines which were fantastic and the two girls had a bowl of pasta which was throughly enjoyed. The restaurant is stunning overlooking the canal we ate inside as it was December however alfresco dining is available in the summer.

We were in town for the cycling and went here for my sons 21st birthday lunch, too cold to sit outside so we were seated downstairs by the fire, really nice. Yes could be classed as a bit touristy but you have to have these places, the staff great, the prices about right for Belgium and with the poor £ to €, the food awesome, full of flavour and plenty of it. The fillet is probably one of the most tender cuts I have ever had, I swear if you had no teeth you could still eat and enjoy, fantastic. If we are ever in Ghent again we will go back.

The meal was just okay and we went there around lunch time.I asked the waiter for a well done steak as I am pregnant but it came back so bloody.I tried to send it back but the poor waiter had so many other tables to serve that after a while I decided to ask my fiance to eat the bloody meat and I took his chicken.I was happy that we could sit on the terrace and they gave us a free nice entree thats why I am not giving it 1 star. But we wouldnt go back there again.I really dont know why its so popular, the pita shops give better service

Of course you can sit in or outside (heaters). The lasagna here is fantastic!!! Love it. Pasta seems to be very popular in Belgium.

We visited at 9pm on a Thursday, unbeknown to us the kitchen was closing. But the great manager checked as we could have dinner. They even gave us a complimentary aperitif. Yum. I must say the staff were very good, and the manager exceptional, I can't recall her name (short hair). She ran the place very well. Food was good, we even met the chef who was also from India. Only picky point was obviously they were preparing for the next day and guests were still eating/drinking, but they could be a little quieter - a lot of clanging of cutlery and clinking of wine glasses. But that is if I was being picky. I would go back, prices were on the higher side for Ghent but worth it. Our restaurant was recommended by our hotel receptionist (Jenny) whom the manager called her best friend. It was a good choice.

Over priced, terrible service. Waiting over an hour to get our food after we ordeed. Almost missed our next event.

The restaurant is situated in the middle of the most touristic area of Ghent, and you get treated that way... we arrived at 5 past 8 - our table, "number 81" wasn't free yet - there is no decent place for waiting, so we stood in the middle of the restaurant waiting for it to be free... the ordering software had a bug, so we could order one of the starters which was on the menu - the waiter promised to "solve" it, but of course, when the starters were delivered, the problem was not solved... The restaurant closed at 11PM, meaning that we were rushed out...
