I had a strange experience here. The food was quite average, and there was a staff member who kind of ruined my evening. She was quite intrusive and kept on coming up to us and being silly, and it was just a bit too much. It was cute and okay once, but it happened several times throughout the meal, and I found it grating. It was a birthday dinner too, so it was a bit of a drag. Wouldn't go there again.

It was a wet night in Melbourne, and we didnt have a booking, and we had to be out by 8:00pm. This restautant, had a funkier feel, than your average Indian Restaurant, with a suscinct menu. And a choice of beers that you select yourself from the fridge. The staff were fantastic. They found us a table, were prompt, with taking the order. And kept us hydrated, with constatnt water top ups. The Goat Curry was very tender and tastey, without the addition of extra chilli. The accompaniments, we great. We had a great time, and were able to get to our second outing. You could have watched the bollywood movies, projected on the walls, if the mood so takes you.

Cheerful atmosphere with friendly and caring waiters providing efficient prompt service and delicious food. There is a small range of carefully chosen dishes which are picturesque but with sumptuous interesting and enticing flavours. Prices are reasonable for the amount and range of food.

Everything is delicious about this place. The food is to die for: rich, sparse, sumptuous, sharp. You can take the kids. You can be kind of posh. You can drink. You can avoid it. You can go for the Sunday night all-you-can-eat cheap extravaganza but you also dine a la carte. It's warm and cosy and smartly decorated. A great easy date night joint too. Also kind of classy - and all because the food is a knock-out. Even if you ain't really into Fitzroy North style of hispter doucheyness, the food silences all criticisms. Highly recommended.

An excellent Indian place in the heart of North Fitzroy, really nice staff and amazing food. Can be a little noisy though.

As frequent diners, we called ahead to book a table for our party of three. We were told not to worry, and just to turn up, which we did 1 hour later, having driven 30 minutes across the city. On arrival, we were informed we couldn't have a table as it required a booking (!!!!) We were then told we could wait for 25 minutes for a table, but if we ordered food while we waited, we couldn't then get a seated table. We then tried to order the Bridge Road Scrumpy cider on the drinks menu - see attached photo. We were then told that wasn't available as the drinks changed. To which I enquirer - why bother giving me an inaccurate menu? To which the incompetent waitress had no good answer. We were also told we could book a table, but not on the day of dining, which is patently ridiculous. There are so many asinine stupid rules at this restaurant, that you'll be so angry, outraged and furious with the idiot staff and owners that you'll have lost your appetite. Go to an Indian restaurant in the city - they're polite, accommodating and don't mess you around. Do not dine at this mess of a place.

This place is amazing. Staff is very kind and very quick! The ace is clean and tidy qnd the food is absolutely gorgeous. The price is honest, they have also good beers. Probably they could serve more generous portions, but that's fine. I will come back.

The wait staff were especially good at explaining everything and prompt with water, etc. An enjoyable experience all round.

A last minute dinner choice for our family of 4. We enjoyed 3 main meals, naan breads and jasmine rice which was enough for all of us. The coconut milk fish curry, village lamb curry and butter chicken were all fantastic. Staff were very friendly, service was good and overall a great relaxed and friendly restaurant with fabulous Indian food at a reasonable price.

I stopped by here tonight and tried the goat curry after requesting a recommendation for something tasty but not too hot. They certainly delivered in that. Prices are reasonable. A good range of craft beers in the fridge where you help yourself for a flat $9 per bottle. All in all top service and great quality food at a fairly reasonable price. I will be back.

Having arrived here on valentines we were expecting a full restaurant however this was not the case. We ordered the Samosa Plate, The Tandoori Platter and then a beef curry, naan and rice. The first two dishes were good but not fantastic but after that it went downhill with the beef curry very mediocre. Where this place lacks is its service. Between the entree and the tandoori platter we had to wait a Total of forty minutes. This would have been fine if the beef curry didn't arrive an hour later with the naan arriving ten minutes later! Having a two year old and waiting nearly 3 hours for food I would not recommend this place there is a lot better Indian restaurants with way better service and quality.

I have never felt more rushed in and out of a restaurant!! My friend and I were seated for 5 minutes before someone coming to ASK why we hadn't looked at the menu. After ordering four starters to share he was then annoyed we didn't choose a main. After ordering a wine and choosing no dessert the bill was placed in front of us immediately. I get that you are busy and want turnover, but making your paying customers feel rushed is not the way to go about it. Overcrowded, noisy and touching elbows with the lady next to me. Won't even mention the food as that obviously didn't stand out over the customer service.

We walked in on a Friday evening and although the place was packed we were made very welcome and just had to wait for a short time. This restaurant is Indian food at its best. We were three and shared different dishes in order to get to taste as much as possible. Everything, truly everything was delicious and served with a smile. We loved it and recommended it to friends who were just as enthusiastic about it as we are. They are lucky - they live nearby whereas we have to fly halfway around the world to visit again. But we are very tempted to do so.

Six of us at the early setting were made to feel very welcome. Our bubbly waiter was attentive and informative - she announced she was the 'talking menu' and without imposing herself on our group or interrupting the flow of conversation she kept us informed and interested in the amazing array of food that kept arriving. Apparently a table of six is automatically assigned a banquet - normally I resist, but this time we went with the flow. We were all so glad we did. Our party was diverse - two vegans, one vegetarian and three carnivores - a real challenge for a banquet. However a truly delightful array of beautifully prepared, clean tasting and subtle flavours delighted our taste buds for the next two hours. Special foods for everyone and foods to be shared by all. Too many dishes to name - but they were all excellent. A real find and a definite return visit.

food was fine albeit lacking in volume for mains the main issue was the staff virtually waiting for our group of 6 to finish up at 10.15 pm on a weekend really!!! Then corkage at $2 per glass be aware as it is byo also, gluten free well catered for Entrees were good

On arrival we were seated straight away. The restaurant was very busy but we were attended to and had ordered within 10 minutes. We had their version of Nachos for entree, one serve was plenty for the five of us. Very yummy! The food was delicious. Very fresh and well presented. Being Indian, four of our party opted for curry dishes ( everyone loved their curry) whereas I had tandoori lamb cutlets which came with a fresh salad and a mint and coriander sauce. Delicious!! I had 8to10 cutlets on my plate and the lamb melted in my mouth. We also ordered rice and naan bread to share. A very modern twist on Indian decor, great music and the staff were so helpful and friendly. Will definitely visit again.

We had the banquet, and im not exactly sure what the entrés were but they were incredible, different tastes, textures and smells, you wouldnt get at your typical indian restaurant. It was always going to be hard to top the entrés in fairness but the mains were quite disappointing. For indian food it wasnt spicy at all, then again a lot of hipster white people come here so i assume they drop the spicyness a little bit to keep their fussy clientele happy. Nevertheless the main i found to be not to dissimilar from your average indian restaurant which was quite surprising as this restaurant has quite a cool vibe about it befitting of the area. Nevertheless, walked out pretty full and couldnt finish the banquet, so good value for the price
