Since actual barbecuing -- the kind where you smoke meat for half a day instead of char it on a Weber in mere seconds (which is admittedly impressive! Great work!) -- is hard, we rounded up SF's best places to enjoy some deliciously marbled meat.

    Despite having only been open a couple years, Hyde Away manages to capture that old-school BBQ joint feeling. Get the applewood/whiskey pulled pork waffle sandwich with an over-easy egg -- it's topped with a Jack Daniel's maple-BBQ sauce.

    Not only do they serve one of the SIXTEEN BEST PIES IN AMERICA, but The Rib Whip also does some down-home 'cue that includes Carolina pulled pork, Southern eggs with bacon, grits, and greens, and a mac 'n cheese... burger??

    Memphis Minnie's is all about (surprise!) Memphis-style BBQ, where the focus is mainly on dry rubbed meat and BBQ sandwiches.
