A fun spot that does more than just bowling, it's always a great place to catch some live music and get something to eat, definitely try the fried chicken.

Ping pong and alcohol makes an excellent night out. Don't worry about chasing down stray shots here, the staff will keep you stocked. Make sure to show up about an hour before you want to play and put your name down.

A great venue for live bands, when heading in you have the option of stage 1 on the left, or stages 2 & 3 on the right. Stage 1 shows are free while stages 2 & 3 usually have a small cover charge but it's always worth it.

One of the best places to see live bands in the city. Amazing acoustics, midsize so there's good views all around, and a lounge downstairs perfect for pre and post show.

A great unpretentious venue to catch some live music or a DJ anytime of the year, but make sure to arrive early on the last Saturday of the month for The Rub. The place will be packed but it's a guaranteed good time.

A great restaurant and nightclub where you can get a stiff drink AND one pound meatballs. Tickets for specific sets are available online so if you know you want to be here in advance you can skip the lines.

The club to go to for true music lovers, the attitudes here are non existent and it's all about dancing. As the name suggests the sound system is amazing, just make sure not to use your camera, photos are strictly prohibited.

Possibly NYC's best wine bar, Rieslings are particularly well represented. Make sure to take advantage of the happy hour for half off on some great wines.

Le Bain is the best of both worlds, not entirely upscale bar not entirely dive bar but the perfect in between. The best nights to get in to enjoy the view are early weeknights, there's no coat check fee but remember to tip.

It's not gourmet but it's open 24 hours a day and delivers around the clock, after a long night of drinks and dancing nothing hits the spot like a greasy spoon.

A great concept that has locations across NYC, local brews and vintage arcade games, just be aware that the games get harder with every brew. Try to check it out during happy hour to avoid the crowds.

Off the beaten path but worth the trip, everyone is welcome and The Dead Rabbit has something for everyone. On the 1st floor you'll find the tap room while the 2nd floor houses the cocktail lounge. Make sure to come during happy hour for $1 oysters.
