Caviar blini. The iced caviar, the warm, fragrant pancake, the creamy/salty/earthy play of flavors — there’s nothing better. Most people would accompany this dish with a glass of Champagne, but I’d choose ice-cold vodka.

Roast chicken. The chicken is served on a platter, family style, the carved bronzed pieces balanced on a thick slice of toast that’s been dipped in the juices and spread with a ricotta-pine nut stuffing.
Hamburger. The grilled meat is placed on an Acme bun with a slather of horseradish aioli, crisp bacon, cheddar cheese, caramelized onions (which I normally don’t like on my burger) and cold shredded lettuce.
