"The Finger Lakes have a growing following among wine geeks, but outside a few major producers, the area’s Rieslings and Chardonnays are little known. My favorite stop—and one many visitors drive right past—is the small farmhouse of Bloomer Creek, where you can try and buy their super-small production. (I love the rosé.) You’ll have to call ahead to make sure they’ll be open, but, to me, that’s just one more reason to love it."
A 7.5 mile in-and-out hike that ends with a beautiful meadow that looks like it shouldn't be there. Pretty moderate in difficult. Be sure to have lunch at the top of Mt. Prospect and follow the white-marker Appalachian Trail all the way through. For more info, check out www.alltrails.com/trail/us/connecticut/rand-s-view
Came here after a moderate hike to Rand's View along the Appalachian Trail. Decided to come her on a recommendation from Aaron Rudenstine. Really glad I had a huge crew to eat with, so we were able to try pretty much everything. My only regret was not being able to try the cajun food. Bennett Chinn came out to say hi and hung out with us for quite a bit. It's cash only, so come prepared!

Had a great trip here with the crew. Very family friendly, easy hike to the falls from the parking lot. Weirdly saw a ritual where a tribe of dressed in African clothing were sacrificing a watermelon to the waterfall. Not making this up at all
Took a bit of a detour on the drive back to the city so we could stop here. Half the shop has some tables where you can sit and work, and the other (more interesting) half is full of interesting beers, available on tap and in bottles. We spent quite a lot of time just exploring the shelves and picked up a few to enjoy for later.
