Chef Kristen Essig helms the kitchen at this new spot for American coastal cuisine— raw bar selections, oyster toast, clam chowder, hushpuppies & more— from the Leblanc + Smith empire (Meauxbar, Sylvain, Barrel Proof). Reserve a table or snag a seat at the downstairs bar or in the upstairs cocktail lounge. The drinks are worth the trip alone, and there's outdoor seating for when the weather obeys.

The chic second location of New Orleans' beloved cheese shop features sandwiches, salads, cheese boards, charcuterie, and even a cheese bar (kind of like a sushi bar) for tastings and small bites. (Plus, wine and beer). There's also separate lines for kitchen orders and buying from the cheese case.

Big Killer Poboys, as it's referred to in order to differentiate it from its still existing location inside the Erin Rose, is now open Wed-Mon, 8am-4pm. They serve breakfast as well as lunch if you like a poboy for breakfast, that is. Though they do have a cheddar cheese omelette po' boy which is a nice crossover.

This chic new Uptown eatery from the team behind NYC's bourbon hub Maysville brings the whiskey to Nola, with over 150 options, plus a menu of incredible southern-inspired pairings of the charred, grilled, and smoked nature from Alabama-native/chef Kyle Knall. Add in an oyster bar overlooking Magazine, outdoor seating, and a swanky ambience, and you're looking at the hottest new destination in town.

Seasonal, primitive dining centered around a giant fire pit is the name of the game at this Central City restaurant from the Adolfo Garcia empire. Most of the dishes that chef Nick Martin prepares here have at least one element that touches the hearth, from smoked mullet dip to whole roasted chicken. Plus, they have cocktails on tap.
