My Favorite Saturday in the City

My Favorite Saturday in the City

The best part of NYC is that weekends are relatively quiet. The city empties out in the Summer, but Fall is where it's at. Brisk, crisp mornings sans hangovers set the stage for a fantastic two days full of a whole lotta nothing. Here's my ideal Saturday.

Like it during the day but LOVE this place in the evening when the arch is well-lit. Even better with your bestie (or best guy), this is my perfect way to end a full day.

My dog's been home alone too long. Time for a walk on the Hudson to enjoy the fall air. (Dodge the Citibikers...they have a tendency to not watch where they're going.)

Time for an afternoon snack! This gluten free mecca makes even healthy food taste delectable. (The strawberry iced tea is my favorite.)

This flagship store on 3rd Ave. has it all (including a house on top of the building!) I'm a sucker for their Coriander Bath Cleanser.

already had a mimosa, why not have a few more at this East Village haunt? Ask Sam, the bartender, for Aubrey's "Corsica"...it's a Mimosa but made with fresh grapefruit juice.

I earned this brunch, damnit! If only I were a Bloody Mary drinker, as their DIY Bloody Mary Bar is legendary. (I stick with the mimosas myself.)

After dropping the dog at home, I head over to this beautiful, challenging Pilates studio in the Lower East Side. Be prepared to have your butt (kindly) kicked by these knowledgeable instructors.

I continue my jaunt with a walk through the Greenmarket. Open on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and (of course!) Saturday, I pick up seasonal goodies including spiced hot cider from one of the local vendors.

Open by 8am and dog-friendly, I always start my Saturdays with a walk to the mobile location of Mud Coffee in Astor Place. Bonus for hot baristas who always give a treat for my dog, Lila Belle.
