A favourite of designers Olmstead & Vaux (Central Park fame), this 90-acre park features many meadows, a 3.3 mile track, ice-skating rink, amazing pond, boating, horse back riding, drummers circle etc.

Stroll though the park, at the top is the Prison Ship Martyrs monument. Walk down the steps to see the full site. Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass was written here, hot spot for film and videos too.

Great place to take the kids and throw the ball around, or watch a free summer movie on a big screen on the lawn. The pier itself has unparalleled views of the Harbor and the Statue of Liberty.
