This is a very hands on experience with the latest technology to help visitors learn all about science. We all know how much children love pressing buttons and they'll be bowled over with the opportunities to do just that. There's a 'Garden' in the basement with water fun and opportunities for construction and sensory exploration. For older members of the family there's the IMax cinema and an amazing shop.

One day is not really long enough to take in all that's here. Of course there's the well-known dinosaur exhibition but you can also see real scientists at work in the Darwin Centre or the Investigate Science Centre. Both children and adults can get a hands on experience with the plant, animal and geological treasures.

Always free to visit and full of more than 3000 years of artefacts. Furniture, photography, sculptures and much more are here in one place to enjoy. Kids can take a backpack round with them that's full of activities and fun things to do.

If you're under 17 years of age you get in for free. And this is another destination where you could quite easily spend a whole day. There are great expanses of outdoor areas for children to run around in, including a tree top high walkway. There's an indoor interactive play area for 3-9 year olds and for 3-11 year olds there's Treehouse Towers. All situated close to a cafe selling family friendly meals.

For children under 12 years of age this fabulous playground, in the grounds of Kensington Palace, is a sight to behold. A large pirate ship dominates the playground and is a safe and fun place where they also get the opportunity to play in some sand. With a sensory trail, climbing and exploration areas, as well as swings and slides the supervisory staff ensure the children are protected at all times. You could spend all day there as there is also a cafe and toilets.
