Sometimes it seems like the same group of restaurants get all the love. Well, that ends today. If you delve a little deeper into the food scene in La Mesa, you’re bound to unearth plenty of hidden hot spots.
This place is an outstanding Mexican food spot. The tortas are money anyway you look at it! I don't think you can go wrong with any selection. Only problem the owner is a Chivas Fan (boo). -- Arthur Mitchell via Foursquare
Grab menus at the counter & choose a table to peruse the selection. When you're ready to order, go to the counter. Don't be surprised if you have to wait awhile before ordering. No smiles, good food. -- J M via Foursquare
The shrimp burrito is good. They used to have a shrimp quesadilla, but I don't see it offered on their menu anymore. The salsa verde here is amazing, has a lemon cilantro taste to it. -- Annie Downing via Foursquare
Go to Riviera and get the Surf n Turf. Or, order the Fillet and a Mahi skewer. Be ready to grill it yourself - be patient and keep it simple. The chocolate malted creme brûlée is intensely good. -- Matt Major via Foursquare
